Watched the rg3 plays again and I'm very happy we haven't had someone who actually looks like a qb in a long time cousins looked good to even with the pick!!!

For the most part I haven't cared about the fact that the league is using replacement refs but after last night it's clear the league needs to reach a new agreement with the real refs and get rid of these scrubs. These replacements have no clue what is going on. In the Bills-Redskins game the refs called a touchback on a punt where the ball was downed at the 4 yard line and never came near the end zone. It was eventually reversed after a challenge but that's a call a pee wee ref wouldn't miss. In the same game at the end of the first half the refs didn't realize when the Redskins had a delay of game with 5 seconds left and no timeouts remaining that the half should be over because a 10-second runoff should occur until Chan Gailey told the rule to the line judge. Supposedly what the real refs are asking for will cost each team an extra $100,000 per year, and in a multi-billion dollar industry that's virtually nothing to ensure the best officials possible.

that is bad.

i didn't notice too much but mostly watched the games on NFL Network so they jumped around a lot, i have most games DVRing today so i will get to see for myself how most refs fair.

however in the Packers / Chargers game the very first flag was baffling. Packers rookie end gets a sack , gets up, turns to the fans and does "muscle arm" motions like everyone does and the refs throw a flag and 15 yard penalty ensues

Gruden, Turico and Jaws were baffled lol

It was BS call either way its nothing to get upset about since it is only preseason but this kind of stuff better not happen in the regular season.

So much for that QB battle...

David Garrard likely out 2-4 weeks

Quote:
The ninth-year pro will undergo arthroscopic surgery Saturday morning to remove loose bodies from his knee, the quarterback told FOXSports.com.

“Nothing happened. Just ‘Father Time,’ wear and tear,” Garrard said. “They have to take out loose things floating around.”

I know it's just preseason, but Gabbert looked very impressive in that scoring drive against the Giants. Probably the most I've ever seen Gabbert comfortable standing in the pocket.

I hope for a speedy recovery for Garrard as I was looking forward to him being successful in South FL.

He was off to a good start, he was a perfect fit for the WCO. And he is a very likeable guy.

i was quite impressed with SF's first drive against the Vikings (haven't watched the rest yet, so they may have more good drives after that ) and they look like they could be solid / great yet again this year. and any time SF is good, it makes the NFL better.

i can't wait for their opening day game against the Packers

as two friends hilariously put it when the schedule came out...

"hey, 49ers play the Packers week 1... SF will be able to show GB what a defense is supposed to do" and the other friend retorted with, "yeah, and GB will show SF what it's like to complete a pass farther than 8 yards"

both comments were dead on which made both statements hilarious

well Thompson drafted six players at each position on defense so that should be slightly improved

Report: Chad Johnson arrested for domestic violence, allegedly head-butted wife during argument

Quote:
According to a newspaper's source, the incident occurred in a vehicle when Johnson allegedly head-butted his new wife, Evelyn Lazado, in the middle of an argument. When police arrived, she apparently had lacerations on her forehead. Johnson was then arrested. The Palm Beach Post is reporting that the fight started over a receipt for a box of condoms.

Throughout his pro career, Johnson has stayed out of legal trouble.
He's gone.

WTF. over a receipt over a box of condoms? so you... headbutt your wife? was he wearing a helmet too while he was at it?! what a supreme goof.

well, he kept to his word - he was gonna keep his mouth shut during training camp / pre-season, and yet he still winds up causing problems!

Ugg, right when you think Ochocinco has things sorted out he goes and does something like this. And he's barely been married for one month.

Comments are funny:

Quote:
StarBomb77 August 11, 2012 10:21 pm I got in an argument wth my wife and I ended up throwing a hot sauce bottle at the kitchen wall (never touched her once and never have) and I got arrested for Domestic Violence, a night in jail, a big fine, DV classes, and a year surpervised probation plus random UAs. Johnson allegedly hit his wife with his own head (physical contact). He better get something similar, if not more than my charge.

Cap Rooney August 11, 2012 10:19 pm Remember Mrs. Johnson is a gold digging scumbag , she was Antoine Walker's fiance and helped him go bankrupt and when they money went she dumped him , Karma is a b!tch isn't it. Lol
