Man I really like that Coples kid. He has at least a sack in every preseason game. I think we've finally found a good pass rusher. Him and Maybin are going to eat sack lunches Week 1, right moviefan

Today is cut-down day, as all teams must be down to 53 players by 9:00 ET tonight.

I'm starting to get used to life without MJD. Rashad Jennings has done a fine job being the starting RB so far with the absence of MJD. He's always been good when MJD was taking a down off now he's expected to start Week 1.

MJD will be in the League for 7 years. Jennings, this is his 4th I believe. Both MJD, and Jennings are the same age but MJD has been punished a lot taking the full load the past 2-3 years.

Advantage goes to Jennings but I'm more impressed with Blaine Gabbert and Blackmon.

Well for my sake I hope MJD signs soon or I will probably have to roll with Cedric Benson as my #2 back, especially since my #3 back is Rashard Mendenhall. 5 days to go, I will say I'd be more excited for opening night if I were sure we'd win.

MJD on your Fantasy? Even if he comes back say Week 2. Not sure if he would get a lot of touches from here on out. Coach Mularkey indicated a few times now that Gabbert will be passing more this season.

Your boy Laurent Robinson only has 2 catches the entire preseason. One he had a chance to to catch a bomb from Gabbert but didn't pull the catch in. Not sure what's up with solid players coming out from big teams to Jacksonville, but they always under perform...usually.

La La Robinson caught lightning in a bottle last year, as he had the best QB of his career, an all world tight end and 2 starting receivers to draw attention away from him. He had more touchdowns last year alone than the rest of his career put together, I doubt he will be anywhere near that good in Jacksonville, sorry.

They should trade him now, i'm sure someone would give up a first round pick, maybe more

Maybe in early-August they could have gotten a first round pick, but not now. Teams know MJD is going to be out of football shape whenever he reports and he likely isn't going to be very effective this year (like Chris Johnson last year). In addition no team is going to give him the contract he wants. He's an undersized 27-year old running back with a decent amount of wear on his legs. You don't give a guy like that $20 million guaranteed.

I hope he creates more separation which seems to be his problem since joining the Jags right now. WR's Mike Thomas and Justin Blackmon played very well in the preseason and caught just about everything thrown from Blaine.

There was one pass last night that they tried to get Robinson involved on a 4th and goal. It was a slant pattern, but Gabbert threw the ball behind Robinson which wasn't Robinson's fault that time.

The Patriots cut Brian Hoyer and will go with Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett as their QBs. Mike Lombardi has said that if he had gotten the 49ers GM job before last season he was planning on trading for Hoyer and having him as his QB.

Edit: The Pats also released Super Bowl XXXIX MVP, Deion Branch.

Do the Patriots view Mallet as the heir to the throne, or just a quality backup? I know Brady wants to play several more years, but you never know when he could get a career threatening injury.

Slaton hasn't been any good in years, I'd much rather go with Evan Royster or Helu at RB than that guy.

Cause he's either hurt or doesn't get the rock! They're going to cut Armstrong anyway so why not get Slaton and hopefully let him run the rock and see if he's got anything.

Well, we were going to cut Slaton anyway, so why not get Amstrong!

Marcus Thigpen has had a good camp and I think he locked his spot on the last pre-season game in Dallas and he's going to be our KO returner.
