The Blu-ray Replacement Case Thread

Both arrived broken - King Kong Ultimate Edition and Independence Day 20th Anniversary, both 4K and 3 disc sets. Any suggestions. Much appreciated.

I see a lot of people have issues with Casetopia lately...

I placed an order for my dad last week & all items were in stock + displayed: "usually ships within 24 hours". But there has been no movement at all since placing that order - I e-mailed them 3 days ago & again yesterday but still no response.

Thankfully I paid with PayPal so if I don't get a response after another week I'll open a dispute. I can understand delays but at least let the customer know & don't put 24hr delivery on your website if you cannot live up to it.

Just wanted to let people know before others place any order with them.

Against my better judgment I placed an order last week for 5 criterion style cases (double disc) and 5 single disc red cases. This order was placed despite the month+ long wait for my last order. I was hoping that was an isolated incident as I've ordered many times from casetopia in the past without too much problem, but it appears that whatever is going on at that business still hasn't been resolved. At the moment I'm in for the long haul, so we'll see how long things take to arrive, but I'll be sure to post my experience again as I have info to share.

The "funny" part is they apparently still fulfill their eBay orders since they have gotten a couple of positive reviews in the last week. So I wonder why orders placed through the regular website & customer e-mails are being ignored.

I waited months for an order. Cancelled it. Ordered through eBay and I had them in a little over a week

I'm not sure what's up with them unless they feel they make more money through eBay. I sent them an email several weeks ago and they never responded. I'm going to try and contact them through eBay and see what happens.

Has anyone tried contacting them at the number they have listed on their site?

I sent them a message on eBay to see if they will still ship my website order. Also asked them if their eBay storefront is the only safe way to order now.

If I can still get my ordered cases this way I'll be happy. I don't like the hassle of opening PayPal disputes but if that's the only way to get my stuff or money back then so be it.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. I've ordered from Casetopia 4 or 5 times and haven't had a problem until one placed back in December. I made the order between Christmas and New Years so I wasn't expecting it to be prompt or anything, finally had to email them mid-January and the package miraculously went out that afternoon. Disconcerting to say the least.

Well, this is not good to hear. Especially on top of discovering that it was going to cost me around $40 Australian for two empty Criterion cases. They definitely won't be getting my money now...

Does anyone know if there's anywhere else one can obtain Criterion cases other than Criterion themselves who won't ship to Australia?

I received a shipping notification & an apology for the delay by e-mail. Don't know if it's a coincidence or not but I got these after contacting them on eBay.

Also a bummer to hear about Casetopia. I've had several single replacements in their shopping cart waiting on a 3-disc clear, to hit their minimum of $5.50 or whatever, but it's said "Out of stock" for months. And when I add a 7-disc for my veiny Lost S1, the shipping shoots to 8 or 10 bucks!

One place I've never had a problem with is Disk Makers; actual Viva Elite and Vortex Eco Lite, 1- and 2-disc. Only problem is minimum quantity is (a box of) 25. But studios keep pumping out sh***y eco cases so I keep replacing them.

I just ordered from Casetopia and didn't have any issues. In fact they sent the wrong item but I contacted them and they replaced it with the correct case.

Out of curiosity, how many cases did you order? I've wondered if those of us placing small orders are often pushed to the side/forgotten in order to fulfill the larger orders. I never spend more than $35 at one time with them which typically equates to somewhere between 10 and 25 cases ordered at any given time. In other words... a very small order.

Does anyone know what kind of 2 disc Blu-ray cases that Shout! Factory uses for their releases? I plan on printing out a cover for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (the Blu-ray disc from the steelbook set) and I'd like to know so it looks authentic as possible.

They've used a few styles over the years but my advice would be to get some viva elites and call it a day. They have by far been the most popular style.

That could have been the reason why. Only ordered about 6 cases.

3 weeks and 2 days later and my order status has still yet to change. I've gone ahead and e-mailed them tonight to see what's going on. I'm hopeful that I'll receive a quick reply, but we'll see. Worse yet my order status isn't even reflected on my account. It's possible I failed to login when I placed the order but my pay pal account still reflects the order having been placed so I know they received my payment.
