Is there a reason 12mm 4-disc Blu-ray cases don't seem to exist for sale anywhere?
12mm cases can absolutely hold 4 discs - I had a 3-disc case with disc slots on each side of the case and a flipper that held one disc, was able to swap the one-disc flipper for a two-disc flipper and it works perfectly. Virtually every 4-disc case I've seen online has been wider than 12mm, though.

If I'm not mistaken, Viva used to make a 12mm 4 disc case, but it seems now they've gone back to 14mm for 4 disc cases. i think all of the 4 disc cases i've gotten recently just had 2 slightly extended hubs with the discs stacked.

Yup, that's all I've ever seen. A series box-set release I picked up a few months back () had 4 discs in one of those. I try to avoid stacker cases where possible, but the artwork just doesn't really fit well in a bigger case, and it sure as hell ain't fitting back in the slipcover that way.

I’ve never seen ANY 4-disc 12mm cases “in the wild”. I’ve always had to make my own by finding 12mm cases that had a disc hub on each cover and swapping out the single-disc flap for a double-disc one.

Or just buy the first releases of Logan and Deadpool 2.

I bought that Scooby-Doo set as well and wanted to get a proper 4-disc case so the discs will not be stacked. Now I find out that you can't really get that type of case. I didn't get the slipcover. Either I get the 14mm case or do what Rexcrk states.

Yep, 3-disc cases can be made into 4-disc cases. The studios used to have releases in 12.5mm 4-disc cases (non-stacked) but I don't think anyone every sold them independently.

Ooo yes. I was talking about regular Blu-rays in the post you quoted. But yeah I was shocked that Logan and Deadpool 2 both had non-stacking 4-disc cases. (And I may or may not keep my eyes open for cheap listings in order to get those kinds of cases >__> )

Can't believe this didn't get a screenplay nomination with writing like that.

Does Viva Elite still make 12mm 1-disc red cases? I've been looking everywhere and I only see the standard blue and a clear case. I was interested in finding one as the release of Black Widow was initially released in a red case. Mine's slightly damaged so I'd like to replace it. But it doesn't seem to be made anymore a year later, which is why I think Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness wasn't released with one despite initially being advertised to have one.

Viva will make custom colored cases for the studios, but I guess Disney wasn't inclined to pay the extra cost.

On the subject of that, if it's not available to buy by itself, what if any movies have been released in a 4 disc 12mm (is it 12 or 12.5?) BD case that I can possibly buy to cannibalize the case for something else? I got Friday Night Lights series and season 1 is a 4 disc case and s2 is a 3 disc case... I'm sure I've got some 3 discs out in storage from the movies I want to get rid of, but can't think of any 4 disc cases that aren't 15mm+.

I've noticed that Paramount as of late is using 4K cases that can be converted in 12.5mm 4-disc cases. They have the slots for a flipper tray to go (but it's the UK-style Amaray one rather than Viva's), but there's a route to go as well.

Pixar's Turning Red comes in a 3-disc case. Mine has a 2-disc flipper, you should be able to get that and remove the flipper for a 1-disc red case.
