As someone else mentioned Severin is the only location I've found to get the Viva Elite black cases with the blu-ray logo. There are others that pop up on ebay but most are generic cases that are a definite step-down in quality. I know this because I was looking for a source of them - I was considering switching my Mondo Macabro cases to black similar to Severin's blu-ray releases.

I highly recommend switching to the clear Viva Elite cases, which are much easier to find and purchase in bulk (at least here in the US, not sure if those 12.5mm cases are as easy to find across the pond with your 14mm standard cases).

Where do you purchase your Viva Elite cases from?

Does anyone know where to get amaray megapack dvd cases ? I just ordered a dvd set from england and the case was a bit messed up. I've tried looking and it took an hour just to find what kind of case to look for. I've found cases that were way too thin and cases that were way too thick...and both of those, the shipping from england were almost as much as the cases themselves.

The case that's broken, if I'm measuring correctly (I don't really know how to read a tape measure properly. I have to look it up every time I want to measure something) is about 53mm...or maybe 50mm. I've seen 40mm cases and 64mm cases...but if even if either of those would work, it's like 50 dollars for a single case.

Any ideas ?

Sigh. Okay, Im ready for it. Lay it on me. I know, I can read through 200+ pages of forum posts to find this answer...or maybe some kind human will simply grant me a link to check out...

Not a newbie, but I understand the frustration of dealing with someone who asks a question that may have been answered on page 134. or 176.

Long story short - Im looking to update my Arrow US Amarays. I just ordered the 4K releases of 12 Monkeys, Last Starfighter and Donnie Darko. I already have the 2K versions from when they were released. I'm looking to grab a couple (or 5 or 10 depending on how they're sold) of clear double disc cases to place the upgraded 4K copies along with the blu-ray copies of those aforementioned flicks.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Thank you!

Arrow 14mm cases are nearly impossible to find in the US, and the few sources of them I was aware of (direct from Arrow, Radiance) only had 1-disc cases but they no longer have them in stock. I don't believe the new cases Arrow uses are made by Amaray anymore, I think they're actually Viva cases. Goodwoodshop/Megadisc sells some clear 14mm case options but I'm not a fan and would recommend staying away from those (they sell regular 12mm clear Viva Elite cases though and are the best source of them in bulk in the US).

I just found out you can buy "Adhesive Backed Spider CD / DVD Hubs" on Amazon. I just picked some up but haven't tried them yet. Those might be your best bet.

If you're buying in bulk, then GoodwoodEshop is the best bet at just over $1/case if you're buying 50 or more cases (I have ordered 56 before because they come in bundles of 28 from the factory).

I've bought a pack of 10 to try them out. Out of the 5 I've used, only one didn't "hold" and I think that was because I didn't clean the inside of the case well enough. All the others have been holding fine for over 6 months. Just clean the case with alcohol before applying the hubs.

I bought the Omen collection (4 movies) from a pawn shop in a destroyed cardboard case. Printed a new cover, found a 3 disc case, used a stick on hub and it has been working great.

I never even knew that was a thing! Thank you for that info! I actually grabbed 5 cases from Severin. They're 4 disc, 15mm so hopefully they'll work. Ill just have to remove the disc tray from the center. Ill let you know once I get them!

If anyone in the US has a source for 14mm clear Viva Elite cases, I'd happily trade you all my Arrow (and other UK labels) Amarays for them. I prefer them and could use hundreds.

Same here. I've picked up a couple of generic 14mm clear cases, none of which are terrible like some of the generic 12mm cases, but not up to the Arrow Viva case feel. I've been trying to replace the blue cases for most of the 88 Films releases (like the Tigun collection) and Third Window Films releases - since both labels have been inconsistent with blue/clear cases.

Just a heads up, if you're buying a lot, the 112 count pack on their eBay store is actually slightly cheaper than buying the same number after shipping is added.

I got my replacement disc for The Demon Witch Child. The Curse of the Devil set has a trans-clear 3-disc case, so adding the replacement disc, I would need a 4-disc case and I checked the info post #1 and there isn't one. Trans-clear cases are 1, 2, 3 and 6-disc sizes. The 6-disc case is 14.5mm so it wouldn't fit the slipcover or the slipbox. I would have to either swap out the original Demon Witch Child disc and place the original in a trans-clear 1-disc case or I can replace the original case with a trans-clear 2-disc for the other 2 movies and then use a 2nd trans-clear 2-disc case for the original and replacement discs of Demon Witch Child.

No 4 disc case is needed. Take the defective disc out and put the new corrected disc in it's place. Discard the defective disc.

Not quite 'cases' but I finally ordered a test batch of tarifold sleeves and will see how they go. Like many others, storage space is at a minimum and it's frustrating. At the moment it will be reserved for more casual dvds.

These sleeves aren't cheap and it's kind of ridiculous that they charge twice as much for blu sleeves compared to dvd and so I may have to just try the dvd sleeves for some blus if I like these and order more. Binders are even more efficient but I like the concept of being able to display the box art.

There are multiple posts about the sleeves potentially ruining discs and so I also ordered some paper sleeves which adds even more cost. But at this point I need to put more effort towards more efficient storage solutions. Maybe the record style flipping through bins aspect could be fun as well for these.

I've had those DVD sleeves for over a year with no issues. I put the disc between the cover art (paper) so it is never touching the plastic. The only time I use the paper sleeves if the DVD set is more than one disc so that they don't scratch each other.

I also have one Blu-ray cover in the DVD sleeve and it works okay with the expected extra room. It does "settle" to the bottom so it isn't as easily visible when mixed in with the DVDs. I bought it on accident at a pawn shop thinking it was the blu-ray (as it was in a blu-ray case) and when I got home it was just the DVD in the case.

Anybody know where you get black 4k cases which have an extra high riser so that 2 discs can be stacked on top of each other on it? Got a few that came like that in Viva Elites that are damaged but my replacement cases won't work for them cuz that clicky thing in the center (riser?) isn't as tall in my replacement cases so can't securely hold two discs like the original it came in can.

The tarifold sleeves arrived and they look pretty good for sleeves. I placed every disc in a window-free paper sleeve in between the jacket artwork to hopefully protect against damage. So far the cheapest housing I've tried for them is the mini Sterilite crates that easily hold at least fifty sleeves and possibly more as these aren't tightly packed.

So far I'm mostly sticking to non-favorites and no boutique label stuff. Only dvd thus far as they're generally more forgiving to scratches. Plus, I can probably find many of them in hd streaming on Tubi, etc. Blus still work in the dvd sleeves though the overhang is a bit much. I just can't see going on all in sleeves or anything, but these are fantastic for saving space and I do appreciate that aspect.

The two disc eco cases are the worst. The two hub (2-4 disc) stackers are a bit better, at least they can be repurposed as two disc non-eco cases. Back before Casetopia went away, I ordered a hundred two disc non eco Vivas, now wishing I'd have bought three disc cases instead. As said, at least all those stacking disc cases could have been used to replace the two disc ecos while I'd have moved 3 disc releases from being stacked to new three disc cases with a flap tray. The two disc ecos are just good for things being sold, or interim cases if I wanted to add a disc to a UHD only edition.

And those 14/15mm Viva cases like Arrow uses now are the cat's meow. I had bought about a hundred of those black Amaray ones along with trays from eBay where probably 1/5 of them arrived broken and the rest had a lot of rubwear on the sleeves. I much prefer the Viva ones that Arrow use now over those - I'd love to move all my UK releases to those if I could. I realized far too late that Arrow sold the cases on their shop, they're no longer available. I ordered about 30 and they shipped 9 and cancelled the rest for no longer being available.

In the market for a good chunk of Arrow style 14mm cases, why wouldn't you recommend ordering them from Goodwoodshop? Is there any other place that would be better?
