Thanks for your insight as always, Prim. Seems like taking the risk and buying them is the only way to really find out in this case, or by contacting customer service.

Thanks
Evo--every time I order blank cases a few arrive with light scratches, etc on the plastic cover. I'm not sure of the manufacturing/shipping process with these companies, but I'm guessing it may be hard to avoid since I've noticed the "faults" across orders with multiple companies.

Back to US Plastic..my cases all arrived sealed in a plastic bag placed in a large box (not individually wrapped). None were broken or substantially damaged, and overall for $9 including shipping I was quite satisfied

Ah thanks for the response. Sounds good. Yeah, I should know better to expect perfection everytime, I'm just a little OCD about these things haha.

Hey, just wanted to give a thanks for the heads up on Discmakers.com!
I had been looking to find some replacement cases, and specifically wanted Viva Elite cases....I ordered a box of 25 from them on Friday, and they were at my doorstep on Tuesday....these are the exact same cases most new BDs come in now, and are the "normal" thickness for US releases (I know someone was asking about this a few days ago)....time to replace any stupid eco cases I have!

Canada Blankmedia.ca double BD cases

I just ordered 20 "authentic-looking blu-ray DOUBLE case with logo with patented hub to avoid pop off during shipping" from blankmedia.ca in Ontario. Given the description, I am not expecting to get those attractive Vortex cases, and assume that these are one of the generic brands spoken of in the thread. The price was right at CAD $11.95 for 20.

I have some movies which I have replaced with BD copies, but still want my old DVD for a unique bonus feature. The double cases save me from taking up precious shelf-space with two disc boxes. A 20-pack should keep me going for a while. Has anyone else dealt with Blankmedia.ca before?

Thanks for the price list, PBR

I originally decided not to list them in the OP since I did notice a few sites change their prices every now and then (but generally not by more than a few cents) and I don't always have time to go around checking and updating. Your help is very much appreciated though

Nope not that I have found. Well there was one place in Aus that was selling 6 disc cases but the shipping was insane. I have (8) 6 disc cases on order from Vernon that will not ship until December.

Just wanted to report back that the 25 (I listed 15 in my previous post) cases I ordered from Discmakers came in. Fabulous quality, no issues at all and were well-packed and quickly shipped. I'll be ordering from them again if I need to do so in the future. The Vortex cases were exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again for the help!

My order of 100 Viva Elite cases came in this week. They are the standard size ones that are 12.5mm thick, even though the specs said 6mm when I ordered. I am very happy with the condition, no broken or scratched up ones.

Time to replace about 30 cases that the top of the spine broke off, leaving that tiny little annoying gap staring out at me and taunting me. Also goodbye to all Sony/Disney style cases (except for ones that came in slipcovers or boxsets that will not accomodate Viva size cases such as Nightmare Before Christmas & Spiderman Collection).

Has anybody found anywhere to order double disc Elite cases?

A bit OT, but I got the Farscape DVD set yesterday and found that they fit all 26 discs into 5 standard sized DVD cases using the little flap holders and a slot for a disc in both the front and back half of the case itself. While the largest number of discs they had in them was 6, it seems as if they might actually be able to do 7 or maybe even 8 in that space by using the max number of flaps/trays. I was wondering if anyone knows if any of the sources for BD cases or any other dealer has these multidisc DVD cases.

I don't buy a lot of DVDs anymore, but the growth of my BD collection seems to be doing the job of slowly boxing me into a corner, and I've figured out that if I can get all of my DVD sets that are in the 5 to 6 disc size into this smaller packaging, I can clear up an entire shelving unit for my BD collection which is currently in about 4 increasingly precarious stacks (I am at near or above 300 titles right now I think) on top of the DVD shelves and with some multi BD cases to save space on that side, I will have some room before I have to decide between switching to slim BD packaging for individual and dual disc releases or getting another shelving unit I really don't have room for without major rearranging of furniture.

Thanks for any info,

Chris

I have the same issue with older dvd cases taking up to much space. I keep thinking of trying to find those same clear slim (14mm) 6-disc dvd cases. Unfortunately I think that type of case is just as hard to find as those Blu-Ray Viva/Elite 6-disc cases (seeing as how they are made by the same company?). Though there are some really cheap/brittle 6-disc cases you can get on amazon.

My Star Trek Blu Ray arrived in the mail today but the top clip was broken. Its not that big of a deal but it aggravates me to see the top of the case open on the shelf. So anyway does anyone know where to buy the triple disc cases or even the double disc cases??

I think I would rather deal with the space concerns than put my DVDs or BDs in any flimsy or brittle knockoff cases.

If the multi DVD cases are made by the same manufacturer as the multi BD cases, maybe some requests in from consumers to the sites that sell the BD cases could lead to them being stocked. I suspect that these DVD cases are a relatively new product and it takes a while for product to make its way from commercial sales to retail sales. I was just hoping that maybe these had been around longer than I knew and might already have made their way to some manufacturers. With some of these cases, and a source for printable inserts for 7mm BD and DVD cases and the multi BD cases I think I would have everything I need to keep shelf space requirements down to the minimum possible for both formats.

I got all excited yesterday when I found 14mm 6 disc cases on Meritline, and then I discovered that they used a single central hub to hold all 6 discs and there is no way I am going to trust my movies to something like that. Hopefully the Farscape style cases for DVD and the Viva Elite 6 disc cases for BD will grow more common.
