Anyone know where to get a 2disc Criterion case? Casetopia is sold out and I can't find them anywhere else, including eBay.

I don't think you'll be able to find them.

You can't get them. We had a guy that used to see very good generics but they no longer do that.
I contacted Casetopia about the black ones and they would have to order 50K minimum sadly. Maybe br.com should contact castopia and do a start up. Make them br.com exclusive. It would be possible to do that as long as 500 people ordered 100 each.

Looks like this is the listing on alibaba:
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detai...472000237.html

There are at least 2 listings on eBay for these in lots of 50/100. You could get them there.

Sorry I meant legitimate Elites and not generic ones. Really no reason why Case and Disc shouldn't sell us black Elites.

I really wish black (or red) cases were easier to come by. Finally got the Equalizer and it is begging to be placed in a single disc black or red Elite.

Has anyone else gotten poor quality "Viva Elites" from Casetopia ?

I placed an order with both Discmakers and Casetopia, with an assortment of singles, doubles, and triples in each order.

All the cases received from Discmakers are in immaculate/unblemished condition. Not one bad case out of 75.

Many of the cases received from Casetopia are the exact opposite. Defects include deeply scuffed cases, cases covered with prints and something that is definitely not mold release, and 4 with the dreaded broken corner(s).

However, most alarming is that these cases clearly did not come from the same mfg. source and same mold tooling. Visible tooling marks authenticate this, and I'm not talking about the normal variations from tool cavity to cavity within the same mold. I'm talking completely different methods of tooling construction, little things/idiosyncrasies which anyone with a tooling background would recognize immediately. Tooling construction is not a trivial matter; besides the obvious effects it can have on things like tooling maintenance, it also can have a big effect on the quality, reliability, etc., of the part produced.

It's been a while since I've placed an order but back then I didn't have any issues. Are you able to capture the issues you mention in a photo so the rest of us can see what you're seeing?

The manufacturer. "Elites" are made by Viva.

I'd say the main differences are that generics may vary dimensionally, and may not be made from virgin material either. A lot depends on the manufacturer.

Everything you need to know about cases is all right here :

Sorry about the funky lighting, etc., on these but I had to try all sorts of things to capture the issues. The stuff that looks like specs of dust are actually specs of something that is "tan" in color and they don't come off. Could not capture any of the scuffing due to lighting issues.

One last note ... this appears to be an issue with the clear sheet stock (both sides at that) which is formed in to the case's jacket.

I had thought this thread was a sticky. Came looking for it and didn't see it. Had to do a keyword search and found it.

Just checked out the site for Casetopia and ordered a couple of 4 disc cases. While I was at it, I bookmarked the site.

Yes, I will no longer order from casetopia. My order from discmakers was in perfect condition. My cases from casetopia were not even new even though they swear they were. They were all dirty and scratched.

That pretty much sums up my experiences. Not only that, ordering from Discmakers is much faster. I had their order in hand before Casetopia even shipped and both orders came from the same state. And the boxes Discmakers uses for shipping are extra heavy-duty !

As for the differences in case quality, my guess is Discmakers is selling genuine VIVA Elites and Casetopia is not. Or Discmakers source their cases from a VIVA mfg. facility that has tighter standards and QC than the VIVA mfg. facility from which Casetopia gets its cases. Especially in the case of the 3-disc VIVAs from Casetopia, they are by far the nastiest.

I'm trying to buy three 4-disc and two 8-disc blu-ray cases. Cheapest I've found is just under $16 from casetopia.com. But I have a couple questions; does Castopia ever offer free shipping? I was startled when the shipping nearly doubled the cost of my order. Despite this, they still seem to have the best price I can find.

Also, since there have been a few complaints coming from Casetopia orders recently, I looked up diskmakers.com but it doesn't seem to sell individual, blank cases. Am I missing something there? What they offer looks nice , just not what I need for my particular project.
