Yep, they definitely will work with the trays removed. I actually just received some of those 3-disc clear cases from Casetopia this past week.

I'm a little confused by the wording... what relevance does the "2-discs" have to do with buying 3-disc cases and removing the tray to make it a single-disc case?

I've used them several times before with no problems at all. They always pack things extremely well, in my experience at least.

I've been buying some cases off Amazon and they're pretty good and decent price but I really want cases that are a little bit stronger. The case that houses Mission Impossible III is the best example of what I want. The case says they are Viva Elites. They are two disc cases.

The ones I've been buying have no markings to identify them but are very close to the Viva Elite only the plastic on the front and back is not quite as thick.

If I order Viva Elites will I get what I want or are there different kinds of Viva Elites? I guess I want the 12.5mm kind is that the standard case size?

Yes, the standard thickness for the US 2-disc Viva Elites is 12.5mm. Viva has made the cases thinner compared to when they first came out, so depending on the age of the case you're comparing it to they may not be as thick. You'll want the non-eco variety though.

What type of case is the Universal 3-disc case that The Cornetto Trilogy came in. I thought it was an Elite case but it isn't rounded on the spine it is more squared.

Can you post an image? According to this picture, it appears to be a standard Viva Elite, but you're case might be different.

That looks to be the same but a typical viva elite case is more rounded at the top of the spine. If you put that case next to a WB release they should be different.

I'm looking to buy a few 3 disc cases to replace the WB triple features. Any recommendations?

Not in the US. Arrow uses the AGI Amaray Blu-ray cases and the only 14mm Amaray Blu-ray cases that I've found are the blue ones carried by Casetopia.

Anyone have any idea on where to get pink, orange, yellow, silve. and red cases? I have bought some from a seller on ebay, but he is currently out of some of the colors. I know Kronenberg doesn't ship stateside.

My shipment of 3-disc clear Viva Elite cases arrived today. The bottom one has some minor damage, but otherwise everything is fine. Taken the trays out they look just like the 1-discs.

I received my UK Blu-ray of Miami Vice yesterday and the case is broken.

Can anyone confirm if the Blu-ray cases are 14mm-15mm Amaray cases?

I can't confirm it as I don't have the disc, but it's most likely the 14mm one like most of the titles released in the UK.

That said, the difference of 1mm is pretty much negligible, and I guess you can go with either case.

I just picked this up at a Best Buy in Canada. It's a three disc set with hubs on either side and a single hub tray in the middle, meaning it can easily be "converted" into a standard thickness 4-disc Viva Elite case.
