Does anyone know of a source for blank sleeve inserts for 7mm slim cases? Also, do any of the custom cover art sites/threads include 7mm versions?

Also, OT side note, I found what may be a source for the 14mm 6 disc DVD cases. I haven't ordered any yet, but these seem to be the same ones or similar to those used in the Farscape set. They also have a 5 disc version and they also have some BD cases listed, but the one's I found state they are 14mm, so, unless that is a typo, they aren't standard BD cases. I would have explored further, but the site wasn't the most screen reader friendly, accessible but a tedious pain to navigate and find things. Anyway, here is the link to the 6 disc cases:

PCX - DVD Case 6 Disc clear (14mm) *Premium Grade* - pcx.com.au

Thanks,
Chris

If this has already been asked, then I do apologize. Are there any replacement cases available for LOST - Season 3? I need a replacement case for my copy, the discs are all in fantastic condition but the case itself will not lock when I try to close it. I desperately need a new case.

Europeans looking to buy 5 or 6 disc blu-ray cases and not willing to pay the exhorbitant shipping charges of Vernon, might want to check this site out:

hdmoviesource.com

They seem to be reasonably priced.

Yay i got my shipment of 25 Viva elite cases from discmakers.com. They are the real deal (exactly identical to the cases we have when we buy a movie), and they are all in perfect condition, no scrathes or broken corners. Im happy, they are way better than those other shit generic cases i bought a few months ago.

I'm from Canada and i had to pay 20$ for the shipping, so all in all it cost me about 30$ for 25 cases, but i dont mind, i got exactly what i wanted.

Are the Sleevetown cases the official Vortex ones? Only reason I ask is because there's no mention of Vortex on their site.

As far as I know, blue blank cases are currently the only color available to purchase (green cases exist of course if you buy a blu-ray with that respective color i.e. Incredible Hulk, but that's the only way I believe).

Yep, they are

Sorry I've been away from this thread for a while, guys...I don't post that much in this part of the forum anymore. I'm working on the updating the OP now, primitive...as always, thanks for your continual contributions.

Edit: OP Updated. In the future, if something needs attention, please feel free to PM me also since I'm not on the forum as much nowadays...when I log on, I'll be able to see a PM faster than I will a post in a thread. Thanks!

No flame, it is a valid question. There are several reasons. First, They aren't just putting the cut out sections under the front of the case now, but sometimes under the back as well and under both with 2 disc sets. I don't like having bare air between my disc and the sleeve insert. Second, no matter how much they say they don't compromise the strength of the case, I just don't buy it. I don't want one or more of those spokes to break off and start a chain reaction that leads to a case with a big round hole cut out of it, and if something were to fall on my case, I am not confident that the case wouldn't allow more of a compression from the impact that might hurt the disc or discs. Third, they use these cases and still insist on putting those extra paper security tags inside the front of the cover and then I have to not only peel the annoying thing off, but have to be careful not to stick it to the sleeve insert or tear said insert if it has already stuck.

If they want to be eco friendly, they should use more recycled material or come up with a way to lessen the amount of material per case that doesn't cause the above annoyances. Personally, I think they just ought to use the absolute thinnest case possible for the number of discs that can be used without endangering the discs. Thinner cases take up less shelf space and every mm thinner they can make them will save more material.

Chris

I received my Sleevetown purchase (single-disc Vortex replacement), and it's just perfect! Definitely the best retailer out there for Vortex replacements. Shipping can be steep, but if you really need it, it's worth it.

You can get standard DVD cases in seven through at least nine discs at many places. My Alien Quadrology set is currently sitting in one of these:

http://www.american-digital.com/prod...kNineDVDHolder

A few posts back I posted a link to a site that is selling five and six DVD cases in the standard 14mm size. AFAIK, nobody has thinned down cases for seven through nine DVDs beyond those listed at American Digital as shown above, though it would be nice if they could produce some that shave a few mm off. But, barring that, these are pretty good cases.

In the realm of BD, I don't know of any seven disc or higher cases yet, but I suspect they will come in time as demand for trplacement and alternative storage grows.

I just wish I could find some matte and glossy printable sleeve inserts for 7mm DVD and BD cases.

Chris

Here's the text of an e-mail that I've sent to Mega Disc Super-Store customer service re: their lineup of Blu-ray Disc cases, which has recently included what are purported to be a triple-disc 12.5mm Viva Elite and a four-disc 15mm Viva Elite (http://www.megadiscstore.com/index.p...ex&cPath=34_38). Hopefully, I can post their clarification in the next few days:
I've never been inclined to purchase Blu-ray Disc cases from you before, mainly because I've disliked your sales presentations so much in the past. For example, your single and double-disc BD cases are noted to be "VIVA Brand," but they are specified as having a thickness of 12mm and the product photos are of generic-brand cases. When I think of genuine single- and double-disc Viva Elite cases, I like to see the specification that they are 12.5mm thick, rather than have a retailer try to round the thickness down.

Anyway, I see that you are now carrying what is purported to be a 12.5mm triple-disc Viva Elite BD case, that while using the correct product photo, has again had its thickness rounded down to 12mm for some apparent reason.

I also see that you've got the most convoluted sales presentation ever for a four-disc 15mm Viva Elite case. The product photo has hubs for five discs (one on the booklet-side of the case; a double-sided swing tray; a single-sided swing tray; and a disc hub on the disc tray-side of the case). In the meantime, the item description notes that all of the disc hubs are on two double-sided swing trays, while inexplicably, there are absolutely NO hubs on either the booklet- or disc tray-side of the case. I know that a genuine four-disc 15mm Viva Elite BD case should have a disc hub on the booklet- and disc tray-side of the case with snap hinges molded to the inside of the spine that can accept a single double-sided swing tray. A five- or six-disc 15mm Viva Elite has slightly larger snap hinges to accept an assembly of two double-sided swing trays inserted into adapters.

So, in conclusion, could you please clarify for me exactly what kind of Blu-ray Disc cases it is that you are carrying? I've been looking for a long time to find a source for genuine 12.5mm double-disc Viva Elites, and I would also probably be interested in picking up some of the 12.5mm triple-disc Elites as well. Thanks for your time and consideration.
