The Blu-ray Replacement Case Thread

I don't know the names or styles of cases but, I want to get some to replace the ugly "eco" ones that cause artwork damage.

Are there any good sellers on Ebay who have good prices on:

- The standard one-disc blu-ray case.

- The slightly thinner one-disc blu-ray case that Sony uses.

I have to ask, as I'm having trouble finding effective search terms:

I own the South Park Seasons 11-15 blu-ray set. The case holds 11 discs.

I need to replace the case. However, I cannot for the life of me find anybody selling replacement Blu-ray cases which purport to hold more than ten discs.

What am I missing here? I know that this is a product that exists, because I have one in front of me. Has it been discontinued on a world-wide basis for some reason?

(Again, search engine results for replacement blu-ray cases that hold eleven discs are fruitless, as apparently every blu-ray case ever made somehow uses the number "11" or "eleven".)

Is it the same thickness as a 10-disc case? Because I’d love an 11-disc case for my custom Shrek Blu-ray set (right now I have the ultimate collection in a 10-disc instead of the 7-disc it came in with the four DVDs of Shrek 1-3 but that leaves an extra disc that I have to keep in a sleeve).

What is the thickness of the case, do you have pictures as a reference?

I'm assuming it's a 25mm Viva Elite case, and if so you can buy a 9-disc Viva Elite, or even a 10-disc and simply add an extra swing tray into the centre for the extra disc. If you look closely, there are tiny little clasps that hold the swing trays together and with a little ingenuity you can add another tray (taken from the 11-disc you already have).

I bought their 8-disc case. I was planning on transferring the discs from Criterion's Godzilla Hardcover book. I haven't gotten around to it yet. I've been swamped for awhile now. Awhile back I got some 5-disc cases and it turns out to be the smaller 15mm size and I wanted the large ~22mm size. I needed a replacement for a box set that had a broken hinge clip. I didn't get around to checking for the larger size.

A couple years ago I started buying the Ace Plus Blu-ray cases that are sold by resellers on Amazon. My case of choice over the years was always the Amaray cases, but they have long been unavailable to U.S. consumers

The Ace Plus cases are very nice quality (not as good as the Amaray, but on par with Viva I would say) and they have a great 3 prong hub system that really hold the discs tight, sometimes too tight.

The triple cases do have a slight problem. The middle tray can sometimes get caught under the disc on the back right flap, but its easy enough to prevent just taking care to open and set the tray properly before closing.

Hope this helps anyone looking for good quality replacement cases.

Does anyone know if I can get any 12 or 12.5mm 3-disc Blu-ray cases that have disc hubs on both covers anywhere? I want to make some 4-disc non-stacked-disc cases and that’s the only way I know how (replacing the single-disc tray for a double-disc). I’ve done this for a few of my Blu-rays but I could use a few more.

The only Blu-rays I ever got that had that were a couple Simpsons seasons and at least one of the Star Wars Rebels seasons.

Are there any other movie collections or TV seasons that had that type of case that might be cheaper to find?

Harry Potter comes in an 8-disc case. The only other one I know of that’s close is the Transformers collection which is a 10-disc case.

I don’t think they CAN be found anywhere unfortunately. Maybe try reaching out to the company directly? I feel like that wouldn’t work though.

I’m still interested in details on that 11-disc case that the South Park Blu-ray comes in. Are they available anywhere? Or is there any way that I could make my own? Is it the same thickness as an 8-10-disc case? I could definitely use one!

I think Casetopia actually has them in stock. It says Out of Stock on the website, but it's allowing you to add them to your cart and go through with the check-out process, while the other cases that say Out of Stock won't even let you add them to a car.

My best guess is that it's a regular 8-10 case that was custom made to have an extra flip tab in it. Unfortunately, you can't create it yourself since all the latches (for lack of a better term) that hold the flippers in place are full.

Yeah I was looking at my 10-disc cases and didn’t really see a way I could MacGyver it. I wonder if it would be worth reaching out to the company and seeing if they’d sell me a case by itself. Probably not lol.

Is it just me or are replacement cases branded "Blu-Ray 3D" getting harder and harder to find? Casetopia doesn't appear to carry them any more (not that I would order from them anyway given their reputation here on the board).

Given the lack of market presence that 3D Blu-Rays have anymore, it wouldn't surprise me if replacement 3D cases go the way of the dodo bird.

About the cheapest I've found are from megadiscstore, but NOT through their website. Their eBay listings are cheaper than their own website.

Anyone know where I can find replacement cases for Arrow blu rays? I’m in the US and desperately need two clear cases. I know Arrow switched their cases recently. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
