Let me restate that, for now, if you're in the United States, your order for genuine multi-disc Viva Elites from Mega Disc Super-Store will receive FREE shipping!
If that works I want to know, but I assume they will cancel the order first.

If you look at their site, at the very top it tells you to select country. If you select USA, then you only see the products available for shipping to USA and this only includes single and double cases.

So unfortunately, I think we are still waiting for a USA vendor to sell the 4,5,6 multiple disc Viva Elites in the regular Blu-Ray case width. And also still waiting for USA vendor to carry 6 disc 14mm DVD cases other then Vernon.

I emailed one of my favorite venders (rima.com) to ask them to carry these and pointed them to several online forum posts that illustrated the demad for a US vendor for these. If only GenesysDTP or other good vendors would start to stock these.

I looked at the MegaMediaStore and the US side of their online catalog has only the single and double Viva Elite cases in lots of 25 @ $21.99 and the shipping to CA is $23.48. That is expensive!!

I just order 300 - 6mm singles and 100 - 6mm doubles at $.55 each with a shipping cost of $.20 each case or $80.
MegaMediaStore case prices are ok but their shipping charges are expensive!!

I purchased a bunch of slim cases from these guys:

http://www.checkoutstore.com

I've been "reducing" the volume of shelfspace by using these. Since I don't give a rats arse about the "digital copy" disk or "special features" disks, I have plenty of commercial 3-disk cases left over for stuff like the Spiderman trilogy. I'm still stuck using the bulkier Vortex 5-disk cases for my TV titles (Galactica, Band of Brothers, etc.) and would like Viva should they become available in the US at a decent price.

My current desire is to get the 2-disk slim cases. I've got one from somewhere but don't remember. I don't see any online stores that sell them, either.

The Good News about Canada's Mega Disc Super-Store:
They've just added 5- and 6-disc 15mm Viva Elites to their product selections....

The Great News about Mega Disc Super-Store:
Shipping is now FREE for 3-disc 12.5mm, 4-, 5-, and 6-disc 15mm Viva Elites....

The God-Awful News about Mega Disc Super-Store:
Shipping is free because prices have escalated dramatically to $4.99 or $5.99 Canadian PER case, with a minimum order of 5 cases!!! Vernon Library Supplies has always charged a premium price per case for MeadWestvaco/AGI Polymatrix Vortex cases, so it looks like Mega Disc Super-Store will now follow suit. This pricing may have resulted from a spike in their sales when news of their carrying 3-disc 12.5mm and 4-disc 15mm Viva Elites started spreading across the Internet a week or two ago....
I live in Toronto which is just south of their store. I drove up there and the actual cost of cases is $2.00 per 5 and 6 disc case. The costs for those are for the "free" shipping. Call them and work something out for actual costs.

Mega Disc Super-Store (Canadian Division: megadiscstore.com) is near Toronto, while Mega Media Super-Store (U.S. Division: dvdcaseusa.com) is located just across the border in Niagara Falls, NY. Although the U.S. side of their operation may in fact ship products to destinations in the U.S., they could in fact be shipping all of their products from Canada. I know that their address for returns is their Markham, Ont. location.

Their Canadian shopping cart is correctly coded to give free shipping for multi-disc Viva Elite case orders. However, if you choose a U.S. shipping address, the cart will try to calculate shipping charges. BUT, they process invoices manually, and for now, after billing your credit card, they send you a confirmation e-mail telling you specifically, at least for U.S. addresses, that shipping is FREE, so you're ONLY getting billed for the cases.

I think the main reason for them to have separate and discrete Canadian and U.S. websites is to list prices in the respective currencies, although, as noted, the pack sizes for the single- and double-disc cases do differ.

Would seem to be the right thread to ask this question. Are BD cases available that are not blue? A lot of the time the art work clashes with blue cases. So was wondering if black ones were available anywhere that would be more neutral.

Not sure who this is directed to but some cases break or arrive broken and therefore need replacement cases. Others like one brand of case over another so they replace the cases they don't like with the ones they prefer.

I'm not aware of anyone finding cases in other colors that are available for consumers to purchase (e.g. small quantities) as of yet. Of course the manufacturers are more than willing to make a cases in a custom color if you're willing to pay for it (e.g. black slim case in the Matrix box set or the green hulk case). However you'd have to purchase large quantities (e.g. thousands).

I think there are a few Japanese retailers that carry black cases, but those are only for Japanese customers. As of now, only the standard blue cases are available.

No, I was talking about the official Japanese releases (logo and all).

But those Elecom cases do look pretty nice.

The 6mm single & double slims (Viva Elite) BD cases are available from MegaMediaStore by special order. Unfortunally they cannot be ordered online yet. Phone (1-905-480-9694) (1-866-334-3731)

Currently, Blu-ray Disc case manufacturers are primarily focused on two market segments, the movie studios and disc replicators. The Viva Elite and MeadWestvaco/AGI Polymatrix Vortex cases really aren't being marketed directly to consumers, simply because a saturation point hasn't been reached of users at home burning huge piles of BDs, and in turn, needing to store them in cases (and no, all of you folks generating custom cover art don't count either).

The chemical companies that supply colorants and clarifiers to the case manufacturers claim that any Pantone color can be matched, although, I think that they might be hard-pressed to come up with translucent metallics, pastels, and fluorescents. But going back to how case manufacturers don't serve consumers directly, when a new release BD does show up on the shelves in a case that comes in a color other than blue, you're just going to have to accept that those cases were the result of a special order. So, for example, Viva doesn't have a warehouse full of green cases just lying around.

In the same vein, the clear 15mm Scanavo case that Criterion uses is in all likelihood, a proprietary case that will never be available for sale from retailers. Yes, that's me going out on a limb and saying that the product code of "CBR-101," molded in raised lettering on the inside of the spine stands for "Criterion Blu-ray." Which is not to say, if you really want a supply of these cases (even though they're thicker at 15mm, and you'll need taller cover inserts since there isn't a branding bar where the Blu-ray Disc Logo normally goes), you shouldn't try to contact Criterion directly to see if they'll sell you some.

For the time being, if you absolutely need to get cases in a color other than translucent blue, you'll need to make compromises. The biggest hurdle might be the lack of a BD logo on the branding bar, but if you need them right at this very moment, even as we speak, consider these:

14mm Single-Disc Opaque Black:
http://www.shop4tech.com/item7744.html

Thicker than the standard 11mm or 12.5mm BD case...and...it's opaque, so you can't see through the dang thing.

Slim 7mm Single-Disc & 12mm Single-Disc Translucent Red:
http://www.checkoutstore.com/PREMIUM...-p/hdcases.htm
http://www.checkoutstore.com/PREMIUM...M-p/hdcase.htm

Basically, these are repurposed HD DVD cases which are missing that particular logo.

Elecom Slim 7mm Single-Disc; 12.5mm Single- and Double-Disc:
http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/4_920_926_926002/

As far as I know, these are only available in Japan, so have fun with the shipping charges and those ever-delightful currency conversion fees! Translucent black, blue, and clear cases, that don't appear to have BD logos, come bundled in packs of 3, 5, or 10 cases, with included cover inserts that are blank on one side. The product codes designate 27 separate and discrete units. Thus, for example:

CCD-BLUS103CBK: S = Slim; 1 = Single; 03 = 3-Case Pack; CBK = Clear Black
CCD-BLU105CBU: 1 = Single; 05 = 5-Case Pack; CBU = Clear Blue
CCD-BLU210CR: 2 = Double; 10 = 10-Case Pack; CR = Clear

I don't really know which market segment was being served when retailers started selling 22mm 3- to 6-disc Vortex-style generic cases, but I'm fairly certain that you'll be seeing multi-colored generics on websites long before different hued brand name Elite and Vortex cases become available to consumers.
