Well, he does indeed have the kind of cases that I'm looking for, but it looks like he's selling 1 for $4.95, which is way too much for 1 case. How did you get that price?

It's actually a decent price. The only other place that sells these online sells them for that price but you have to buy at least 5. That's probably how this guy got them and he's simply selling single cases.

So I'm looking to replace some damaged bluray cases and I have read thru most of this thread. It seems a lot of people are fans of the Viva Elite cases. My question is why do people prefer those over the Vortex cases? Is it the snap on the side that people don't like?

From what I have read it seems the Vortex has slight advantages over the Elites, such as slimmer cases(11mm vs 12.5) and easier release tabs. So why do people prefer the thicker Elite case over the thinner Vortex case?? I thought thinner is better due to them taking less shelf space. Also I see there are people talking about 6mm cases.

I understand everybody has their own preference but I just want to know if I am missing something here so I can make a educated decision. I just want to know as much as I can because I might just replace all of my bluray collection to one case and want to make the right decision. Thank you for all your input.

Vortex look and feel cheap to me. Elites do not. The plastic is also different as well.

I was looking at my Disney blu-rays and noticed that Monsters, Inc is the only one in a Viva Elite and not a Vortex. I'm thinking about getting a 4-disc Vortex case so I can keep my Disney BDs uniform. There is a .8mm difference in size however, but I think it should still fit in the slip because the slip is slightly loose-fitting as it is. Someone on eBay has one for $5.98 shipped. Any better prices out there?

I don't think you can beat Casetopia's prices (ebay) on Viva Elite cases, especially if you're buying singles. At least, not right now (maybe if they start selling them stateside prices will change).

On the other hand, I had the opposite idea and was thingking about replacing my Disney Vortex cases with Viva Elites to save shelf space.

I ordered 5 cases from him the other day because I bought a couple used BDs from Hollywood Video that came in DVD cases. The original artwork was included though, so I just have to stick them in the Viva Elite cases when I get them. I'll have some extra cases, but that's alright. I'm sure I'll be able to use them on future used purchases.

Don't worry, extras come in handy. Even if you buy at the store, it saves you the time and hassle of returning.

I think he had some listed a few weeks back, but it looks like they're gone now. I'm sure he'll get more in.
