Please forgive my ignorance, but can anybody explain the differences to a noob like me?? Beyond how many discs they hold, I don't understand what the difference is between all of these cases. 7mm, 12mm, vortex, Viva Elite, Premium... I am so frickin' lost....

I just want some replacement blu cases!! I don't want anything super-fancy, but I don't want to order flimsy junk either (and I want to be sure the shade of blue is the same as my existing cases). Help??

There's 2 official kinds. Vortex and Elite. Vortex has the latch on the side that you can snap in and is often used by Sony and Disney. Elite has the BD logo painted on and has no latch. It's used most often by Warner Brothers, Fox, MGM, Universal, and Paramount.

Discmakers.com carries both single disc versions of each style, and also 2-disc versions of the Vortex case. They are probably the cheapest in terms of pricing per case. But you can also find a couple of sellers on ebay who carry 3+ disc sets also and they usually offer free shipping. But the per case cost is higher.

Casetopia is the guy I buy from if I need something that holds 3 or more discs.

Thanks. Yeah, I've been visiting all these links, but it's all becoming a big blur to me, hence my plea for help. I mean, the pricing varies widely, but to my rookie eye they all look pretty much the same. i just don't want to order crap or pay more than I need to for decent stuff

Are there any B&M retailers that carry blu cases?

I'm looking for really thin cases that hold 3 discs, do they even make them? LOL. it can be either 6mm or 7mm, i really want it to hold 3 discs but I guess 2 discs is fine also, anybody have an idea?

I want to fit three seperate cases in the lord of the rings slipcover box. I wants to include the bluray, special features and DVD copy in one case, each film having it's own 3-disc case. But can't seem to figure out how to do it.

That seller is the only one I know of that has them. I emailed Disc Makers if they're going to carry them. They replied saying they've discussed it, but it won't be soon. I think I got a pack of 10 from him for about $13 or so shipped. They're definitely the most requested case.

Not that I doubt your statement, but are you sure that you received (single) Vortex cases without the latch?

Maybe he didn't see the latch because it was folded inside. I know new cases come that way, lol.

you are right. i never knew they came tucked inside like that. i prefer them not to be locked with the latch cause those latches are cheap and break easily. they will continue to be folded inside

^ Ah, kind of feel the same way, but only one case's latch has broken on me. To me though, if it's folded inside, I feel like I'm not using the case completely...kind of weird, but as long as you don't drop them, they really won't break.

You mean those small clips on the sides of the middle one? Yeah, those are definitely a pain. I was thinking about closing all my latches, but it seemed like dust might be able to get in there...there's like a small crease left when the case is closed over the latch.
