Cool

After I realized that some DVDs/Blu-rays in my collection have "different' packaging, I decided to start putting them all in blu-ray cases (at least for my music/concerts regardless of format). So today I came across another thread and this thread, in which I found at least 8 different places that sell blu-ray cases; and it has come to two sites with two different cases.

It's either Sleeve City or DiscMakers (cheaper option) with Elite and Vortex cases, which I'm assumed have the engraved blu-ray logo. Which ones hold the disc the best and when you take it out doesn't strain the disc as much?

I would appreciate your help. I was thinking of getting some red cases to put the concert/music disc in, that way it's different than the movies.

TIA

mvckalel, I must have misread your original post. I thought that you were trying to summarize sites where you can buy cases, and the types of cases that those sites carry, hence, me talking about your post eventually going to be buried by others that follow soon afterwards (it is on page 14 of a thread, after all). That was why I suggested that you post here on this thread, which is supposed to be more of a comprehensive, authoritative resource on this forum for locating case retailers. The thread where you had previously posted is a complete free-for-all, whereas here, Sussudio actively monitors and updates the original post. As I mentioned, I believe that this thread could be infinitely more useful if members who have purchased from the sites listed in the original post can properly identify the cases that they've bought and provide scouting reports, leading to that information being added to the original post as well. Yes, it really does matter to some members if they can buy replacement Vortex or Elite cases. And yes, some members are still misidentifying Vortex cases as being Amarays.

Anyway, I applauded what I thought was your original intention, summarizing sites and the types of cases that they carry, so here's your original post:

I've looked at all the posts before me, and I've come up with almost all of the sites that all of you have mentioned. I'm posting the price for 50 cases, unless noted, but I don't have the time yet to put what type of cases they are. Shipping is NOT included either. All are single cases. Please feel free to repost with corrected data (type of case, imprint, etc.)

Slevetown
$28.00 for 50 cases

CDROM2Go
$35.00 for 100 cases

YesBuy
$25.99 for 50 cases

MegaMediaStore
$21.99 for 25 cases

TapeAndMedia
$0.42/each on 50 OOS

CheckoutStore
$54.99 for 100 cases, (free shipping buying 100), also available in HD DVD (no logo) and both in slim

ProLabel
$52.99 for 100 cases

ACCA Products
$20.00 for 50 cases

DiscMakers
$0.24/each for 100 cases OOS

Octave
$45.00 for 100 cases

Polyline Corp.
$48.20 for 100 cases (1 ctn.), BR1FS-100 silver. embossed logo, push button hub

TapeResources
$0.43/each ordering 100, Nexpak

Again, please repost adding new info, your mini reviews and comments.

Also, has anybody found any cases in different colors besides blue and red?

TIA!

i like your suggestion, primitive....i do try to check this thread as regularly as possible, so if people start posting the types of cases they buy/receive from sites listed in the OP or others, i'll add them to the OP to better assist members

It is a nuisance when they use funny awkward cases for blu-rays. IMO, the traditional blue blu-ray case is the best.

Lets start, the blu-ray books (Matrix, Dirty Harry, JFK); the multidisc sets (Band of Brothers); the ones with special shapes (Iron Man, The Dark Knight). I have both of Elvis' Sp.Ed. of the 68 Comeback and the Aloha Hawaii, and they are open, folded, just unsafe.

I think I'll end up with Sleeve City or CDRom2go, but I really like the engraved ones...

When the cases are awkward they do not fit well in the shelf and hard for storage. I always liked traditional blu-ray cases.

Has anybody tried these sellers? http://www.aprvideo.co.uk/products-5...54701690d24e2f

They are in the UK. They sell a 3 disc Amaray case and also swing inserts.

Haha, yea, I just tried them and I had placed an order for 5 6-Disc cases. They then emailed me back and said that since I am not in Australia, I have to pay a fee of $20Au so I can send them an Electronic Funds Transfer. Then they wanted me to pay $61 for shipping to Canada. That is an absurd $106Au for five empty cases!!!!!!!

That's after I just got Monster's Inc from japan, and only paid $20 for shipping!!!!

Needless to say, I canceled my order!!!

If you live in Australia, you are lucky!!!!!

DON'T SHOP THERE, UNLESS YOUR RICH!!!!

AMAZING. I wish I had the wall space for a bunch of these.

Great thread by the way. Are there any short compact stands that open and close that somebody can personally recommend? I'm moving and bringing a fraction of my collection with me. Something along the lines of this? http://www.racksandstands.com/Southe...23-UT1147.html

Yea, I saw those at Ikea ... I thought I would need a bunch of them to have space to fit my collection as it expands!

Can anyone answer my question about different color cases? Like a green bluray case that the Incredible Hulk comes with or maybe a Red bluray case.

I still am not aware of any, for red, you would probably have to use an HDDVD one, but that isn't even a real red!

Searching around for Elite style bluray cases and I came across a site. Ive looked at their site before and what they currently listed is not what they had before. But Im not sure if these are Elite style cases. The sure look like it. But again cant tell for sure.

http://www.squaredealonline.com/a.asp?s=JDF

http://www.squaredealonline.com/show...r12brdo.jpg%22

Now keep in mind Im not calling them Elite cases. Im saying they look like Elite style. They look similar to the Nexpak cases (the elite style ones) that you could get from sleevetown a while back.

Anyone know?

I think that the link to their photo for the single-disc case is currently broken, but I believe that it was a "six-ribbed" 12.5mm generic, whereas, their double-disc version is a "four-ribbed" 12.5mm generic. Square Deal apparently likes to ship items with blocks of styrofoam recycled from other packages, which is fine if you don't mind little white bits and pieces getting all over the place. Also, they may have had a security breach of someone supposedly accessing credit card numbers, so if you still want to deal with them, do it through Amazon, where they're a merchant.

I just ordered 5 replacement single disk cases from sleevetown, and they arrived yesterday. Good shipping times. The shipping cost was a little more than I would have liked, but still not bad.

I have a question. I want to buy Blu ray cases online, but they are cheap and fake looking. I found ones that look pretty good on sleevetown.com. Can anybody tell me if they look real and if the crease on the spine wears off when you put the paper cover behind the plastic thingy? And were can I buy the cases that come with the Warner and Paramount Blu rays?

If you want the elite ones (like the ones from WB) then I would not get from sleevetown. They have the Dinsey and Sony ones, with the flap on the side and the embossed logo.

I know, I just want to know if the ones from sleevetown are original, or if they look real and if I can buy the WB cases, where.

Sorry I've been away from this thread for a little while, guys...I'm going to try and "renovate" the OP sometime soon to better organize the info, especially cases. Seems people are most confused on here about what sites provide which types of cases, so I'll do what I can to try and lessen the confusion. Look for it in the next couple weeks
