it might look darker on glossy paper.

i didn't know how they would print so i only had her try these 3 @ 1st.

It appears that you can buy the official Criterion 2-disc cases. That means that my official Benjamin Button cover modified for their cases can now fit the new two-disc cases.

I'm in the market for some replacement cases, and I'm trying to compare Sleeve City and Megadisc. Sleeve City cases are Scanavo, which are 11mm, while the Megadisc cases are Elite, which are 12mm. Will the artwork for a 11mm case look noticably distorted in a 12mm case? Megadisc charges $42.02 for 40 cases, while Sleeve City charges $57.54 for 100 cases. I'd rather get the heftier Sleeve City discount, but I don't want to have packaging issues. I'd like to buy at least 20 of the double cases (12mm, not 15) to put double dips in, as with the upcoming Halloween II disc from Shout. Also, where would I be able to buy cases in a variety of colors? It would be cool to have a handful of red, black, yellow ones that matched the color of the cover art.

No, the cover art won't look noticably distorted in a 12mm case; that will only be a 0.5mm difference on each side. Cover art width seems to vary quite a bit though regardless of case size. Some are way too short where as others fit tightly.

There is no good way to purchase colored blu-ray cases from retail. There have been a few releases with colored cases, especially in Europe, but the only way to get those are to purchase them used from an individual that is selling off their colored cases.

Thanks for the info. Regarding black cases, there are these, but they're $5 each, and the seller won't combine shipping, as he only has a limited stock. At least, that was the reason he gave me.

I believe another member asked as well and the seller told them they wouldn't do it because they would lose money on the sale. Not sure where they're getting those black cases from but my guess it's a Viva Elite factory in Korea or somewhere nearby.

The Scanovo cases seem to be slightly cheaper than the Elites, and also slightly thinner, both of which are pluses, but I really hate the plastic "lock" on the side of the Scanavo cases that you have to open before you can open the case itself.

And they're a bit cheaper than Megadisc: $42.09 for 50 cases vs. $42.02 for 40.

I've noticed quite a few of my imports from Europe have come in 11mm Viva Elite cases. It's strange that those seem to be only available in Europe though. I actually prefer the smaller Viva Elite cases but haven't found any retailer who is actually selling those as replacement cases.

I'd prefer those as well - I have relatively limited shelf space, and each 1mm saved per disc would really add up! Of course, half my collection is Criterions, and they use the wider cases.

Are there Scanovo cases that don't have the clasp on the side? For double cases, I don't like the way the discs are overlayed on top of one another - I'd rather they were on opposite sides, as with the Elite.

I haven't seen too many Scanovo cases but I thought they were claspless. Do some of them come with clasps? I know the Vortex cases come with clasps and never seem one of those without the clasp before.

If you're looking to buy Viva Elites in bulk (e.g. lots of 25) then I'd give Discmakers.com a try.

Sorry, I'm a bit clueless about the brands - someone said that Sony used Scanovo, so I checked and my sony discs - Dracula, Baron Munchausen - have that clasp on the side. As far as the black ones go, I've checked through my collection and noticed a few that would look very nice in black:

Evil Dead 2
Halloween
Creepshow
House of the Devil
Maniac
Suspiria

I guess I could spring for a couple of $5 cases - it's annoying that the seller doesn't have a Buy Now option for any of his cases.
