Sure lolwut. I've received your PM and I'll let you know when I've got things organized.

Thanks, I'm just getting into this and a lot of you guys probably know more about the different brands than I do.
All I know is the green cases, which cost twice as much as the others, are Scanavo (the SteelBook™ brand).

Wow I would definitely be interested in some green, black, and red cases, but I'll need to check the individual movies to see if I would need any 2 disc cases (if 2 disc cases are even possible). Problem is I'm in the States. I would certainly be willing to pay for shipping if you wouldn't mind shipping overseas.

I've been on the search for other colors. Found some here. Min order of 50, though.

Yeah, I've found black there too. Unfortunately they're all 14mm size.

I'm still looking for three 3-disk Amaray (or other 14 mm thickness) cases to make combo packs out of my Spider-man DVDs and UK Blus, if anyone has any leads or extras. Thanks.

Dang too bad Elite won't do some colored ones. I don't mind Vortex but I'd rather have Elites. I don't like that stupid latch on the Vortex's as they always fail even after snapping them into place.

They're not Vortex and they don't have a latch.
And Elite does make colored ones as long as it's a huge quantity. I've got a black one right here.

Ture but they look like they could house the latch. And since they have the embossed symbol they might as well be Vortex's. I guess they are just cheapo Vortex's.

I would order some Elites but as you said you have to order large quantities.

Is there anywhere a person can buy replacement cases for the thicker cases that UK releases use?

You can get them from casetopia, they are the 3-disc vortex cases. Just remove the inner page flipper thingy and you have a 14mm UK case

Is anyone familiar with a four disc blu-ray case with a 12.5mm spine? I've searched quite a bit with no luck, so I know it's a long shot.

I have a few three disc movies in Viva Elite cases which I have come across a fourth disc for. I want to add that disc to the set while still using the original artwork and slip covers.

Any thoughts?

Seeing as 12.5mm equals a half-inch, you could go with Vortex cases. They appear to be a little thicker at the spine, but that's mostly due to it being flat instead of rounded. Here's the cover dimensions, if you need them.

10 & 23/30" x 5 & 7/8"
3230 x 1760 px @ 300 ppi
Panels 1540 px each, spine 150 px

Not really, considering all they sell are generic cases, and near the same price of the official Vivas sold elsewhere and considerably more than the official Vortex cases through Disc-Makers, when buying a large number. I don't know how good the actual quality of their generic BD cases might be, but I've bought dvd cases from them in the past that weren't all that great: a case of 100 black that were brittle and would get hairline fractures at the clasps easily, just by opening them; and a case of 100 clear that had better quality plastic, but the disc hubs were almost too hard to use - I even tried to break one in, by taking a disc off and putting it back on about 20-30 times, but it was still so stiff, a kid, or careless or impatient adult, would likely break the disc before getting it out.

3-disc Vortex should be virtually the exact same size as 3-disc Amaray, close enough for the same cover art to work with minimal, if any snipping anyway. 3-disc Vortex are pretty easy to find from US vendors - don't know about shipping to the UK.

I've seen UK Amaray cases listed on ebay before. But like someone else mentioned a 3-disc Vortex is basically the same case. In fact, all the single disc UK BDs I've gotten in Amaray cases had the hooks to be converted to a 3-disc case too. The embosed circle around the BD logo is a little more stretched on Amaray cases than Vortex, and the disc hub is the same style that Amaray has always used for dvds. Otherwise they appear virtually identical.

That's odd. I've got over 1000 BDs and have bought and resold at least 400-600 more and have never had a significant problem with the latch. Even the relatively few cases where the latch wouldn't snap in place properly, I just folded it inside and left it and it stayed put the next time I opened the case. You can also cut the latches off. But, again, I've never had the need to.

Maybe I've just been lucky, extremely lucky considering my collection size and the fact that I've bought around 200 extra Vortex cases to replace all the broken Viva's I get from gohastings and warehouse deals. In fact, of the last 8 BDs I ordered from gohastings - all brand new BDs, four in Vortex cases, 3 in Vivas, and 1 was a TV season in that cheap plastic tray packaging glued to paper - 2 out of the 3 Viva cases arrived damaged, despite being brand new orders. Gohastings is to blame for using thin mylar mailers instead of even rudimentary padded envelopes in shipping. But, still, even the cheap, hard plastic-on-paper case arrived unscathed, as did all of the Vortex cases, yet 2 out of 3 NEW vivas were broken.

I think the artwork would fit ok in Viva Elite or Vortex 4-disc cases, but they are definitely too thick for the slip cover. I was hoping for a much closer fit. There probably just isn't enough room in a thinner case for four discs. Thanks for the thoughts.

I think I found the site on this forums, but CaseTopia is awesome! They ship well packaged, have great prices for the LEGIT cases (I order Viva Elite only, but they have other brands) and they sell Criterion 1 and 2 disc replacements, too!

I would highly recommend them! I've only ordered 3 times, but I don't burn through them that fast, and I order 3 sets of about 60-75 at a time. Will continue to order only through them, though!

I just placed an order through them. Replacing all my junk cases with the lock tab on them, broken cases, and a few for the future. Low prices, and you can order in single quantities. I will order from them again!

I'm planning to buy 650 vortex cases(since that seem like the cheapest). Disc Makers seem to have the best price for buying bulk. But with this many cases, the shipping alone is above $40. Does anyone know if Disc Makers have any promotion go on during any time of the year? Like free shipping or some % off during some holidays? I am not that in a hurry, so I have no problem waiting until end of year or more to get all 650 cases. But if they never have any coupons, I might as well just buy it right now or look to different places.

So, does anyone know of any coupons available or even better places to buy large quantities other than Disc Makers? I live in NY, so place that doesn't charge tax is also helpful.

Thanks in advance for any help

I've never seen them release a coupon good for blu-ray cases or accessories. All of their $ or % off coupons have only been valid for disc replication or duplication services or hardware.
