Trust me just buy the 5, you might need more in the future.
I know these guys and I always buy from their store front here in Toronto. I've been nagging them for two years to get the 7,8,9,10 disc cases. It seems they finally got some. I was only up there about 2 weeks ago and was asking about them. There very hard to get and I'm actually going up tomorrow to pick up 10 each of the 7-10 cases.
I don't need them all but who knows how long they will have them. After I talk to them tomorrow I'll post if it's a temp thing or they'll always have them!

Just got my 7,8,9 and 10 cases. Right now they have about 500 of each but should have more after this
The owner pointed out to me that the quality of the regular Elite cases has dropped as well. Less plastic and yet they're charging more for them
Anyone else noticing their purchased movies cases are not as good as they used to?

I haven't. As I said above I just recently received a box of Viva Elites from Discmakers and they were the same sturdy cases that have been around since 2006.

The owner is right. I've noticed for some time that the newer Elite cases are a bit flimsier: just squeeze the walls and you'll feel how easily they yield to pressure. Compare with the older Elites: the walls are stiffer and stronger.

Do they sell 11mm 3-disc cases? I need one for my Avengers set and Wreck-it Ralph set. The links I went through in the OP all have very expensive shipping. Hoping for a cheaper option.

Casetopia.com has 12.5mm 3-disc cases. I'm not aware of any 11mm 3-disc cases though.

Could it be the different Viva plants have different manufacturing methods, so Plant A cases are slightly thinner than Plant B cases, etc?

So there is no way to get a case to hold each disc individually for Avengers 3d or Wreck it Ralph 3D and still use the slip? I don't even need to hold every disc...just the three blu-ray discs of each title. I just don't want to stack the stupid things.

This says Vortex 3-disc and according to the thread that lead me to this one, Vortex is 11mm although that dimension is nowhere in the description. The only cruddy thing is they are charging nearly $8 to ship two cases for some reason. If I add a lot more cases, shipping doesn't go up by much but I don't want that many spare cases. I only need a couple.

edit: Guess I need three 3-disc cases. Just found out that Fox and the Hound is a stacked case as well and I can't ditch the DVDs because that's where the bonus material is.

The Avengers 3D and Wreck-it-Ralph 3D came in a 12.5mm sized case. So the 12.5mm 3-disc Viva Elite cases will work perfectly with the slipcovers.

For Vortex, the 1 and 2 disc cases are 11mm while the 3 and 4 disc cases are 15.8mm and the 5 and 6 disc cases are 21.8mm.

So are there any thin (11 or 12 mm) see-thru cases people can recommend? I need to slim down all of my Criterions.

Maybe I was holding the case too tightly but sure enough I measured again and it looks like 12.5mm. I checked multiple times yesterday and it looked like 11mm for sure. This makes the search a little easier...any suggestions on the cheapest place? I see one on eBay for 5 for $9 free shipping. Is that the cheapest?

What is the thinnest 4-disc and 5-disc case out there? All of my searches are showing 22mm it seems.

That's going to be the cheapest for a set of 5. That seller is also from Casetopia so it's the same company but the eBay auction the cheaper option.

Viva Elites. Their 4, 5, and 6 disc cases are 15mm.

Question

So I'm new to this Blu Ray thing and I already HATE the cases with the cut outs. Are these cases the best ones to get?

Sorry for the possibly stupid question I'm about to ask...but does anyone know what case the "Tom Cruise Collection" is? It a 5-disc collection, but I'd like to add the Special Features disc I had from Minority Report to it and keep the case the same size so it fits in the slip. Seems it would be fairly easy to do as there is no disc slot on the front inside cover. I can take a picture and post it if it helps.

Thanks!
