Cause most people barely even sit close enough to see HD.

If they did that it would just say UHD ...

So? Do you sit close enough? Yes? Good, that's all you should care about.

Wide color gamut and HDR is not something that requires close sitting.

^, uKayers -
there’s girls on the beach too…..

^
note, this shot and other shots from the sunset scene on
Breakers Beach shown vis-a-vis Youtube in SDR (as mrtickleuk is cognizant of), they’re clipped so come next year keep an eye out for how these translate into the HDR color volume with the home deliverables

P.S.
For you golden eyes who place your vision above all else in order to critique this or that UHD Blu-ray, it’s a good idea to wear eye protection during sports, best with polycarb rather than plastic lenses for you serious weekend warrior types or even those who channel Formula 1 racers when they drive, as the polycarbonate is shatter proof

...Hearing protectors and gas masks...live sports...car's racing.

Eventually no need to wear ear plugs and gas masks; EV car racing.
Faster, environmentally friendlier (sight, sound and air).
Sight? ...Removes the film of smoke behind, better focus on the pursuers.

Yeah, it seems like mini-LED would have a panel in front, but would micro- need one? Just an anti-glare layer, or more?

Slowing things down a bit as compared to dem ^ fighter jets, like I revealed last July regarding mods to Tom’s personal aircraft - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...o#post16651809
you can now see that removing the center fuel tank allows him to give rides to his friends -

If it wasn't for Top Gun, this HDR discussion thread wouldn't be as popular as it is (most traffic on BR site).
And Amazon's Jeff Bezos wouldn't be on that list ...

Huge news in the USA for sports fans. The very first Regional Sports Network that will be switching over to 4K HDR will be in Colorado where all Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche home games will be broadcasted in 4k HDR. They will be produced in 1080P and then upscaled to 4K similar to the Thursday night NFL games which to do look very very good.

Super Bowl 2020 Will Be In 4K (Sort Of)

Sports Video Group reported yesterday that Mike Davies, Fox’s vice president for engineering, said at an industry conference that the network will produce the game in 1080p HDR (High Dynamic Range) not 4K HDR.
