That's why, the longer you're on a ventilator, the poorer the prognosis is.

There are some ways to combat this, like using immunosuppressive steroids, and other drugs, but they don't always work. Interestingly, Hydroxychloroquine might work to reduce the cytokine storm too.
yes a cytokine storm will exacerbate the situation, it is by definition (i.e. your body creates cytokines to attack the pathogen making you sick, when it creates too many and they start attacking your body as well it is called a cytokine storm. BUT a cytokine storm only affects the affected area (aka in this case in the bad cases the lungs). The other complications happen because everything in your body needs oxygen to work well. It is why if you exercise too intensely for a too long of a time you can feel sick and collapse. The only difference here is that there is no known way to bring more oxygen where it is needed.

If it is people that got tested and they got false negatives then that is worst news since now we need better testing methodology. Since it makes any "recovered" stats meaningless. It could also make negatives in the first place a lot more unreliable.

If people did beat off Covid-19 X but now they caught Covid-19 Y that is more bad news since it means the very small differences between the different strains is enough for Covid-19 to fight immunity

Lastly if people did beat off Cpovid-19 x and now it came back that is the worst news since that means no immunity is possible.

Agree for me covidiots and politicians scare me more than self-isolation and the virus.

I don't think it is that crazy.

1) a lot of people have a lot more free time on their hands
2) a simple bread is flour, yeast, salt and water. Flour, yeast and salt can last a long time, for most people water is not an issue.

Making your own bread is a great way to save money, saves trips to the store takes up less place....

I’ve been unable to get flour, even on Amazon. No one has it.
I just baked a cake, and I had to substitute flour with Bisquick. (Hopefully it doesn’t turn out bad)

They are, but further down

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

I fear India will suffer the worst from this when all is said and done, and that's sad to think about. The combination of its population density, and lack of infrastructure to deal with the impending onslaught is going to be horrific. I hope my fears are unfounded, and they can get ahead of it.

Yes I have those same fears for them and countries like them as well. Their numbers are going to be terribly inaccurate as well because I imagine most of their deaths are going to be at home.

Semantics.
By ‘variety’ I simply meant more than one clinical presentation, and yes I’m familiar with the original ‘discoverer’ - Dr. Gattinoni’s classification, i.e. Type L and Type H. Again, I was saying (perhaps due to comparatively low volume of patients seen here compared to places like Italy and NYC), afaik, Type H just hasn’t been experienced (yet) in terms of ventilation strategy in my neck of the woods.

I don’t doubt that Type H exists and is seen, even prevalent, in hot spots around the country/world, plus, for that matter, over time, perhaps even more ‘types’ (for example, an intermediate category between L and H deeming slightly different management guidelines with time) will be classified as the knowledge base on COVID-19 is refined.

When the Coronavirus first hit the U.S. a couple of months ago, we were safe here in NY as we weren't one of the first states hit. But once that first case hit NY, things went to hell and look where we are now.

If India is not careful, the same problem (or worse) can happen to them. Be careful what you wish for...

Sakes Alive!

My Dollar Tree had TP in stock! 3 four packs per person. There was plenty of it too. And it was name brand.

Saw a new ad today on TV.

"If you have a fever, cough and a shortness of breath, DO NOT go to the ER or call your doctor. Instead call the NM COVID-19 Hotline. It listed an 800 number."

I know. I don't know what's worse... this feeling of isolation from this self-quarantine that has no end in sight or not being able to buy simple essentials. The beauty part of living in NY was the added convenience of being able to easily walk to the nearest grocery story or pharmacy whenever you needed any essentials that you are running low of. But now, stores are completely sold out and online retailers are also low on stock and/or having slow shipping due to high demand. It's incredibly frustrating. And what's worse is that we are at home 24/7 now. So we need more of these essentials more than ever. It's not like we are at work using our company's restroom toilet paper or buying our own take out for lunch everyday. We are at home all day everyday, using all our toilet paper at home and eating all our meals at home. And since it's not so easy to run to the store, we need to stock up more than ever and that's not so easy to do.

And I guess that's why everyone else is also buying so much stuff. We're all running through the same issue and stores just can't keep up. And truth me told, I don't think stores even care to try to keep up because we've been at this crisis for over a month and stores near me still have empty shelves. Disgraceful!

Personal communications between physicians with privileges at several, but not all, north O.C. hospitals. The validity of my personal communications with people at the front lines, no matter the profession, has been proven (as mentioned to ownership) and documented for years, since for example, as far back to 2008 – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...11#post7591928

Since some of the hyperlinks in that ^ post have been ‘lost’, I can easily post the personal communication (as it’s a written correspondence via 2008 email to me from before the test signals were launched on disc and publicly available to consumers) from the former V.P. involved with that particular project. Personal communications with the M.D.s have all been verbal and likely HIPPA privacy protected anyway.

Has anyone seen ads similar to this in their area?
