That said, when you look at it in terms of its usage for video processing, some of the chip manufacturers claim that when using AI on the TV chip (instead of a graphics processor), AI uses about 1/10 of the silicon so it’s ~ a tenth of the cost and we may see an extraordinary rapid acceleration in what TV chips will be able to do in the near future concerning things like scaling (e.g. 4K->8K).

And with regards to AI on the TV chip, file this little tidbit under making the lives of TV reviewers as difficult as possible , is that what these AI-chipped TVs will look like out of the box may well be completely different as to how they look after 1000+ hours…..after the AI has been trained inside the owner’s TV. Interesting times ahead.

Not every film colorist use their box of Crayolas with the same color intensity.
Yes, the box is bigger, with more crayons, more colors.
