According to this interview, it's a lone individual who is holding this release back.

Ah......so it was Criterion that rejected 3-D Rarities because it was "not interesting" to them. Bad call on their part.

This question should probably go to Bob, but please anybody chime in if they know something:

I've heard almost nothing about the UA 3D classic feature (owned perhaps by MGM?) "The Diamond Wizard". Anything happening there? Even anything that can't be spoken of.

Default RE: "The Diamond Wizard"

Hi, Warren,

Some of us were privileged to see The Diamond Wizard in actual 3-D at World 3-D Film Expo II back in September 2006. My recollection is that it's an interesting film with a good cast and really proficient 3-D.

I personally think it's wise to wait and let Bob and Greg and Jack Theakston speak up about forthcoming 3-D Film Archive projects in their own good time. That way they're not placed in an embarrassing or compromising position. After all, even their silence on a particular subject can sometimes be misread as a tacit confirmation, when no such thing is intended. Trust me, they won't sit on information once they have the all-clear to share it.

They probably would have wanted to region lock it and have a bad reputation thanks to their early discs becoming unplayable, good riddance to them - I'm really glad that Flicker Alley are having such a success with it

Speaking of Jerry Lewis, how many other stars of 1950s 3-D have a new movie coming out?

First Look at Max Rose with Jerry Lewis

I hope something can be worked out with Money from Home while Mr Lewis is still with us.

You're right, Bavanut, I'll have to plead guilty to trying for an "I'm not at liberty to discuss that" type of response.

Paramount Paramount Golden Age 3-D

Earlier today, Kino Lorber Studio Classics revealed they now have a deal with Paramount. For those who have been asking for more vintage 3-D on Blu-ray, all I can say is:

Sounds promising and cool to hear they have access to more Paramount 3D classics for 3-D Film Archives to handle in the future.

Great news. Glad more vintage 3D films are going to be remastered and preserved on Blu-ray.

Thumbs up

Big news!

I can guess which titles will probably be first in line, but I hope they're all successful and you get to do most if not all of them.

Wow, great news! That frees up possibilities for so many titles. Thanks to Kino, Bob, and everyone involved.

Hoping for Hondo!

Other possibilities:
Friday the 13th Part III
The Man Who Wasn't There

and in Italy, Paramount released Funniest Show on Earth (1953). Don't know if that counts here.

Oh, the 1980s revival titles. Of course. That's where Greg Kintz's skills will really be needed.

Hondo is my most wanted.

Hondo is not owned by Paramount, they simply licensed it from the Wayne Estate.

And the key words are Golden Age.
