Yeah the TCM copy of Dangerous Mission is a womp womp 4:3 print of underwhelming visual quality.

I just got an SBS Blu-ray of "Dangerous Mission" from Australia. The picture is VHS quality at best, and the colors are faded. But at least it's genuine native two camera 3D and not a jiggered conversion. Better than no 3D!

I wound up catching Dangerous Mission for the first time at Expo I, then again at Expo II, and again at Expo III. The film is now number four in my personal top five Golden Age 3-D favorites.

Don't get me wrong-- there are "better" 3-D movies with stronger stories. Your mileage will surely vary. But, for me, seeing Dangerous Mission in a theater, in three dimensions, with a responsive crowd, vaults me right up to cloud nine. The experience is as close as I will ever come to an exciting, super-eventful vacation in one of our beautiful national parks... in the year 1953.

I believe it. I just wish I could see for myself. Mere words can't convey.

I suppose I'll just have to take your word for it. I'm sure you're right, but it's not the same.

Seems like Olive is hardly in business anymore- they haven't put out any new titles in a while- given how many they've botched that's a good thing.

It's futile for me to try to narrow it down to a top 5. Today it's:

The Bubble
The Stewardesses (because of the Experiments In Love short)
Taza, Son Of Cochise
House Of Wax
Inferno

Might be a different 5 tomorrow. I also have a lot of love for The Mad Magician, It Came From Outer Space, Creature From The Black Lagoon and Revenge Of The Creature.

And if we're just talking about the quality of the 3D then honorable mentions must also go to:

GOG
Man In The Dark
The Maze
Sangaree
Jivaro

Those Redheads From Seattle

I haven't watched as many as some here, but I did find all of these movies very good. Both as good movies, and good 3D

2: It Came From Outer Space
3: House of Wax
4: Kiss Me Kate

3D Rarities is a collection of shorts, some better than others. As a package it's very impressive, and has some subjects that you don't see often in 3D Blu's. Like the boxing match between Rocky Marciano and Joe Walcot.
