Now that the deal has been cut (which surprised me as I thought that Bob F had burned any bridge with WW a few years ago) I'm hoping this will open up the availability for WW's OCNs for the other 2. Guess only time will tell.

P.S. Perhaps this deal happened because Wade himself is no longer in control?
The Film Detective now has access to Wade Williams' library, so they are the most likely candidate for Robot Monster's TBA distributor. A relationship with the 3-D Film Archive and The Film Detective means Hannah Lee and Cat-Women of the Moon would now be possible.

If that is the case, we're in awesome shape for the future. Not even a day-and-a-half into the Kickstarter for Robot Monster with a $10,000 goal and the tally is already near $40,000. Kickstarter campaigns for the other titles would easily generate enough funds necessary to restore the movies.

Last weekend I held a small gathering at my home to view 'Man in the Dark' 3-D in my modest home cinema. Amongst those present was an elderly gentleman who remembered vividly the day that 3-D came to his local cinema in Wellington, NZ. It was 1953 apparently and his teenage date for that night's screening was later to become his wife. He recalled the novelty of wearing cardboard glasses and the sheer excitement of something new from Hollywood - and then sat enjoying every minute of the film for the second time, nearly 70 years later! I showed him some other vintage 3-D titles on my shelf and his eyes lit up, and already have the next home viewing lined up. I am so grateful that these treasures live on and look forward to adding more Golden and Silver Age 3-D titles to my collection.

The files just went to the authoring facility last week. Check discs for QC are still a few weeks away.

The campaign updates will keep backers in the loop.

I love the "At Popular Prices" Tagline. Not really sure what defines a Popular Price. And I always felt the Skull Face was False Advertising.

Robot Monster is an actual 3D film. However, http://www.3dmovielist.com/3ddvds.html lists a version of the film produced by Apt. 51 which is as you describe. Just avoid that version (which is DVD anyway).

The movie itself is considered one of the worst movies ever made, which is a separate issue, but you might want to watch it as a so bad it's good deal. I wonder if they can get the rights to the MST3K version. Obviously they couldn't actually show the bots in 3D but there's got to be some way to include it, even just as a soundtrack or with a 2D version.

It means that It Came From Outer Space was the first science fiction picture in 3-D at unpopular prices.

"Let the dullards have their Most Amusingly Bad contests and Golden Turkey trophies, the cinephile will receive Tucker's surrealism with pleasure and notice the sketches for The Man Who Fell to Earth."

"All hail the Robot Monster."

"OK, it's cheesy, it's stupid, it's cheap, it's nearly inept, but, by golly, it's a hoot to watch."

"A man in a gorilla suit with a diving helmet and a bubble machine. Trash nirvana."

"A really terrible monster movie, but a really entertaining viewing experience."

I have come to the conclusion that no other 3D feature will ever match the brilliance of Inferno and House Of Wax in terms of quality of film AND 3D. I’m just grateful to be getting this release.

Was looking through the archives of local newspapers of where I live in Pennsylvania and found several ads for Golden Age 3-D movies that played in theatres around here.

Sadly, going through these old ads I discovered that, while a good chunk of the classic 3-D movies were actually presented locally in 3-D, there was a lot that were shown flat, including Inferno, Dial M for Murder, It Came From Outer Space, Southwest Passage, The Moonlighter, Gorilla at Large, and a few others.

In the June 5, 1954 edition of the Shenandoah Evening Herald, there was a blurb about Dial M for Murder premiering in 3-D:

On the same page, however, the ad mentions nothing about 3-D:

It might have been playing at a theatre in 3-D in another town.
