Next time Hollywood runs out of ideas, perhaps a more perfected version of Illusion-O could be re-created with polarized filters?
Although I suppose it would be all the more difficult to know which filter to look through in a darkened theater. I probably shouldn't be serious about this, but part of me is very inclined to consider the possibilities! |

(either red or blue) to see only the one color: Looking through the red filter you could see the ghosts. Looking through the blue filter you would not see the ghosts. This is very different from polarization in which the goal is to not change the color of the light for either eye. Maybe there is some genius who knows how to use polarization to change color perception as well. That would be interesting. |

They already sell "Dual Play Compatible Gaming Glasses" = each polarized pair having 100% of the left or the right eye view. A film restorer then can make a left-eye image with invisible ghosts (possibly via blue-filter, rotoscope or digital eraser), while keeping the right images for visible ghosts. Putting on the Dual play glasses will then determine if you can see or not-see ghosts via stereo polarization in 2D. ![]() Last edited by Paul H; 06-02-2017 at 04:46 PM. |

We may never see the film restored in 3-D, but you CAN see ROBOT MONSTER: THE MUSICAL!

![]() [Show spoiler] I did, but I've frequented that thread enough to know that it likely won't matter, Bill can be difficult to deal with. Probably would have had a better chance if Scorpion (aka Walt) had been putting it out since he has a better relationship with Kino so you all could have worked in tandem from the beginning. As I said in that thread, probably best to see about a European counterpart, I wouldn't be surprised if 88 Films decided to put it out since they ride the coattails of Code Red releases all the time but they're pretty notorious about not putting in much effort. '84 Entertainment out of Germany would probably be the best bet since they put out some excellent packages, doesn't hurt that Germany loves 3D releases though. |

Might this be a candidate for a Kickstarter campaign?

I encourage anyone who hasn't yet done so to drop a line to the Code Red thread and express an interest in a 3-D release of Mark of the Wolfman. There's a small cohort of anti-3D trolls in the thread making disparaging remarks about 'whiny entitlement', the 'church of 3D', and the 'twelve people' who care about 3D. Best not to take the bait, and merely demonstrate by sheer numbers that there is a reliable niche audience and customer base for 3-D (of nice, reasonable people).
Subkultur Bluray: ![]() It baffles me that a 3-D movie can already be available on 2d Blu-ray, and people are willing to spend good money on an all-new 2d scan for the sake of a marginal increase in picture quality, but scoff at the notion of actually scanning the original 3D elements. This is one of only 3 movies filmed in the HiFi Stereo 70 format, and the 65mm 3-D elements reportedly do exist (despite some of the misinformation in the Code Red thread). Apparently Code Red may also have secured the rights to 80s 3-D movie Silent Madness, so if we could persuade them to release one 3-D title, perhaps they will be open to more. I have a lot of faith in Eric Kurland, but he would have to volunteer his own services. I think we'd all be very grateful to whoever could manage such a campaign. Anti-3D animosity always baffles me too, and there is a lot of bait in that thread. What interested fans wouldn't want to see new scans from the original 70mm film negatives, whether you are going to watch it in 2D or 3D? The movie deserves to be preserved and restored properly. We don't need another 2D Blu-ray from inferior elements.

I just saw the f.y.i pre-order of the Money from home in 3d.the way it stated that glasses were not included.I got a sneaky suspicion that olive films have included an anaglyph print in the Blu-ray disc.but you have to provide the glasses.I might be wrong, but, why did it mention glasses included if it's flat? Why no mention it at all.

3DLUVER29, apparently F.Y.E. places the same disclaimer on just about every title: "DVDs & Blu-ray include disc, cover art, and case. Bonus downloadable or promotional content may have already been redeemed. Promotional items (3-D glasses, figurines, t-shirts, posters, jewelry, books or other non-media items) may not be included. Cleaning and repair was done as required."
Just for giggles, I looked up the 1986 film Tough Guys and the 1973 film Blackenstein on their site and saw the exact same boilerplate. Last edited by bavanut; 06-06-2017 at 04:42 AM. |

In an ideal world, the other two Hi-Fi Stereo titles, Electra One and Love in 3D, would make great releases from Code Red too. I think I remember reading that the 3-D Film Archive owns the rights to Electra One. Is that right?

No, we don't own the rights but we approached the supposed owner to discuss a restoration and they didn't reply!
