I saw an anaglyph broadcast a long time ago, but I wouldn't mind seeing it in proper 3D.

I haven't time right now to make a cogent defense, but put me down as one who loves, absolutely loves Gorilla At Large.

GORILLA AT LARGE had anaglyph showings on TV. And has a good cast. I have seen it several times in duel projection prints. Would love to see an official 3-D Blu-ray release.

I do have the broadcast anaglyphic version on a Beta tape from the 80's. Haven't watched it since then but I still remember it looking pretty bad.
No disputing the quality of the cast. For me the man in the ape suit killed it. Strange what worked in PHANTOM OF THE RUE MORGAN didn't work here at least for me.

While relatively good for its day, I don't think anyone would confuse it for an actual gorilla. It's better to take the apesuit antics in a spirit of fun rather than with expectations of realism. You just have to suspend your disbelief and allow it to take on a life of its own.

There are a handful of titles that'd make me be extremely happy to be wrong about this! However I would certainly be quite happy with Revenge of the Creature.
I think that the box set is the best guess and I really believe there's a good possibility Universal will have 3dFA do that partial corrective remaster in addition to the master for "Revenge". It will give us 3D fans a good excuse to double dip on the first film and it won't cost Universal that much. Unless that happens, I will pass on the box set and wait 6 months for a solo release of "Revenge" as I also have no interest whatsoever in the 3rd film. It's FLAT and I already have a good copy from the Legacy Collection.

And P.S. it's already Thursday and where's that "sometime this week" announcement, Bob?(LOL)

Default A very good year!

That now makes 5 early '50's "Golden Age" 3D features for release this year:

The Mad Magician
Those Redheads from Seattle
Cease Fire
Gun Fury
The Maze

And Bob F. has mentioned a minimum of 3 for next year!

If the Kino Lorber connection is still in place then those 3 titles would probably be SANGAREE, JIVARO & FLIGHT TO TANGIER

The Kino Parmount deal was confirmed ages ago The Maze, Sangaree, Jivaro,
Those Redheads From Seattle, Flight to Tangier and Cease Fire will all end up being released by 2019 at my estimate.

T. Warren Scollan if you add Inferno we have had 6 release from the 1950's and with September Storm and Ape that 8 classic/vintage 3D films this year. That's good going

Hopefully something might pop up this year from Warner Bros or Universal.

I'd go along with that but I think we'll only get 1 or 2 of those. I still believe in "Revenge of the Creature" and also the possibility of either "Bwana Devil" or "I, the Jury" (or both). Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Sorry, I don't think it's fair to count a second release of the same film (Inferno). And I was originally referring to only to the "Golden Age" 3d films ('52 to'55).

I think REVENGE OF THE CREATURE is dependent on when Universal releases their 3 CREATURE films in a legacy collection. Both THE INVISIBLE MAN & CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON are scheduled for remakes but those releases are at least a year or so away. A marketing Tie in to those events might be premature.

Watched Hondo for the first time in 2D today. What a great film. I also learned that it is my grandfather's favorite movie of all time, and he has never seen it in 3D. It's a damn shame that Paramount is keeping such a beautiful 4K 3D restoration from us. His health isn't the best, and I'd love the chance to show it to him one day. There's probably no chance of a release until 2022 or beyond.

Both Wolfman and Frankenstein Legacy sets were released in September last year.

The press releases for both sets were issued in July. I'm hoping they release the Creature set this year.

It was announced in 2014 that Shout had the rights to Bwana Devil. I don't know why it's taking them so long to released it.

Shout was going to release it flat using an ancient transfer.

Thankfully, that was stopped. They're not releasing it.
