![]() It's not that I despise the company, and I wish them the best, but just looking at their catalog, there just aren't many titles they come out with that have my interest. NOTLD 90 was, is, and will always be a film that I watch multiple times a year. Christine and films like Fright Night are great and all, but I hardly ever reach for my DVD, or yearn to have a Blu-ray release. I can't even get myself to pony up and buy the Indiana Jones Blu-ray set, it's mostly a value thing for me. It was the first time I spent that much on a single release that didn't come stuffed with extras. I don't mean to turn this into a Shout VS Twilight Time debate, but I feel much more satisfied with a release like Shout does where they at least show they put a lot of effort into the release. Regardless, I'll be keeping my Blu-ray, but they'll just have one other person getting their Blu-ray releases, not me. Honestly wish them the best though, I hope they gained a lot from this release. |

I'm sorry but the darkness in the screenshots above is just retarded. I'm happy to stick with my DVD. How on earth could they think that darkening it would make it better? Crazy. "Herp derp horror dark scary durrrr". Those amateurs.
Arrow limited their fantastic limited edition release of Battle Royale to 10000. So these jokers limiting this half-assed release to 3000 copies is laughable. Last edited by crazyBLUE; 10-04-2012 at 10:09 AM. Reason: removed word |

I personally think the alteration works in some areas and not others. Obviously it's a stretch when it's daytime out for it to be that dark. I do like it for the fact that it's a horror movie and the color gives it that cold feeling, zombie feeling to me. I especially like it better with the zombie picture above as it just looks like she's cold and hideous rather then some vibrant zombie. I personally don't like screen shots too much though as the picture is constant through the movie. If it changed back and forth that would be one thing but it doesn't. Has it's back and forth with if the color really fits but overall I'm OK with it.

What is the point of everyone showing screen shots anymore
![]() Some calibrated some not we don't know, cause the funny thing of the hole thread is no one ever says what player or what tv their using .An those that do seem to have proper calibration really don't have a problem with the disc an they acknowledge that yes their is a slight color change .You can tell by these horrible screens two basic things possible A )calibration is off somewhere an B) The picture option chose is obviously the wrong one chose so with that being said yup sweep it under the rug like some of the other logical posts on this thread ![]() |

Kind of a bad comparison; Arrow have released the hell out of Battle Royale, steelbook version just gone up for pre-order, regardless of packaging it's still the same movie.

Am I wrong to think that the color change gives the film a darker/scarier look to it?.
I really wanna watch this. |

Would some of you consider the darker color to be similar to the Green Lantern BR release?. It had a much darker color tone than it should have but still really didn't affect the PQ. |

From University of Illinois psychology professor Daniel Simons: "Numerous people in the U.S. - in some cases a significant majority, believe memory is more powerful, objective and reliable than it actually is, a new survey revealed. Their beliefs contradict decades of scientific investigation." "People tend to place greater faith in the accuracy, completeness and vividness of their memories than they probably should." "We've known since the 1930s that memories can become distorted in systematic ways, We've known since the 1980s that even memory for vivid, very meaningful personal events can change over time." http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/232246.php |

I've noticed this brought up as a reason the changes don't make sense. It actually makes plenty of sense. During dusk the sky is a darker shade of blue in the east and the shades of yellow, red, and orange we associate with sunset are limited to the horizen in the west. While we do know the scenes were filmed during the day, it doesn't mean that changing it to day for night, or in this case day for dusk, doesn't make sense. Most Hollywood movies are lit by all sorts of lamps and reflectors, but that shouldn't negate the validity of the final product.

Also, keep in mind the Criterion is owned by Image Entertainment and really isn't a "small" independent label like Twilight Time. http://www.image-entertainment.com/all-brands |
