Children of the Corn 1-3 (Capelight)

Capelight Pictures announced on their Facebook page the release of Children of the Corn 1-3 on Blu-ray (Mediabook) for autumn.
This will be depending on the German movie censor board FSK, as Capelight are submitting all three uncensored titles for a re-rating. If not lucky the movies will be released through Austria.

First of all it depends on the BPjM as all three films are on the index. Capelight can only submit the films for a new uncut FSK-rating if the BPjM erases them from the index list.

Part 1 will most likely get off the index and get a 16-rating. There is nothing seriously offensive in this movie in terms of violence (the most gruesome scene being the kid run over by the car).

Parts 2 and 3 are much more violent, and as the murders are commited by children it might be difficult to convince the BPjM that these scenes are no longer liable to corrupt the yuth. But there are also many fantasy elements (people killed by the corn itself and such stuff) which set the movies clearly in a surreal environment.

Chances are good I guess.

I like MediaBooks - have several of them. Only interested in the 3rd film, though, out of this batch. Unless they can come up with all three films uncut and in nice packaging, then I'll grab all 3.
