Well, I do have some fear about the 3D, I keep reading about ghosting sometimes severe on these 2016 Sony sets, the 930D, 940D, so I can only prey it is acceptable, many people say the 3D image is fantastic but then you read from others about this ghosting. Other than that I can't wait until Wednesday.

Some people are experiencing a bad 3D picture while others (myself included) think it's great. Sure, there'll be some ghosting, mostly during critical scenes with light objects against a dark(er) background but I'm not bothered by it. I guess that's still the downside of active 3D. I've owned Sony 3D TVs since 2010 and the Z9D is definitely the best of the bunch. Very bright and vibrant 3D picture IMO.

I would think it's the same with the 75" model, so make sure you disable Motionflow for 3D, as that is what's causing the flickering of the screen (at least on my 65Z9D and X940D as well). Other than that, use the S&M 3D test patterns to set contrast etc and you're good to go!

Great 3D, outstanding 4K/HDR performance along with amazing black levels, what's there not to like about the Z9D?

*Sony fanboy mode off*

I get a lot of ghosting on the 3D as I have done on every Sony active 3D I've ever owned and seen (and I've seen a few). I think my eyes just aren't right for active 3D, as mad as that sounds.

I believe you are correct. Some people notice ghosting while other really can't see it. I fall into the can't see it category.

I see it also, I just don't think it's really bad on the Z9D.

Review by Vincent Teoh on Homecinemachoice.

So could this be the TV he measured a while back when he mentioned it on Twitter?

I just measured. Not in a million years would it fit or I could pay for something like that.

Let's see, $5000 down, great interest rate for six years about $875 a month. Nope, no matter how nice I would be to my wife, she would never agree.

You do realize that an 8K micro-LED 80 to 100 inch unit could likely be available for the same price in six years or so. A Sony, as I think I refuse to buy any display from Samsung.

Yes, I do know.

I figure my next purchase will be a micro-led. I'm saving now.

Same here.

I guess the Z9D will hold me over until Sony comes with a MicroLED.

What, do you mean turning the 3D off so you can play the 2D 'eye' only? The ZD9 doesn't do that which is rather annoying, as I bought it expecting it would do that.

If you mean 2D to 3D conversion I wouldn't know, I think the 3D's terrible on this TV when watching actual 3D content, never mind stuff being converted on the fly.

You aren't mad, Geoff. My X930D has ghosting, too, but NOWHERE nearly as bad as that Samsung JU7100 monstrosity I bought.

Scott Wilkinson talk with Oppo

http://www.avsforum.com/oppo-announc...-new-products/

"Q: Regarding the UDP-203 and 205 UHD Blu-ray players, have you released a firmware update that addresses the Sony implementation of Dolby Vision in its TVs? If you haven’t issued that update, do you expect to? If so, when?

A: We have firmware that supports Sony’s implementation of Dolby Vision in its TVs. The firmware is undergoing testing by Dolby right now. We hope to make it available to customers as soon as the test concludes that there is no problem with existing Dolby Vison-capable TVs as well as Sony TVs."
