Not entirely because Panasonic wasn't pushing out regular firmware updates, patches, or bug fixes even before the pandemic hit. |

They're a company that no longer stands behind the products they manufacture. Make it, sell it, make some money, and then on to the next thing. This is not just a poke at Panasonic. Many companies are now the same way. |

We've been down this road before with Panasonic. They know full well there are issues with their players (some small, some large, some that must be fixed in partnership with other companies). Robert Z. has even been in touch with them, but it doesn't seem to move them to act at all. |

Oppo was truly exceptional with their universal players, unique in the field of mass consumption.

While you're on, Fanny Lye Deliver'd, there are two cuts according to this website, does it freeze on both cuts?
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Fanny...lu-ray/280515/ I need to be quite exact for Panasonic to replicate the issue on their end. |

I apologize for not being more detailed with information in the forum post. I'm the midst of creating a more outlined Google Document/Spreadsheet that I will share with you all within the next couple of days. I have your post on note, and will express all your information in a meticulous manner for Panasonic to understand to 100%. I understand your point to a 100% as well. As I don't own the player, however, would you have any great recommendation on which button press and/or pop-up menu this option would best be added? |

Would you be able to tell me a particular OSD/menu/item that you find distorts, and an example of a 4:3 DVD that causes this? The more information the better, a lot easier for Panasonic to fully replicate your issue/s. Also, do you have an example of a triple-layered UHD that struggles on the Panasonic/s? Send me all you have. Thank you. |

I would say that I have talked to many people on discs issues and they told me that most of the time it's either a firmware problem or the disc is defective. But If It's only 1 disc that is having the problem then It's most likely the disc Itself but If It's more then 1 disc that is having the same problem playing then It could be the player Itself. I would contact panasonic regarding the issue and let them know and also where the disc came from so they can look into It to see If It's a disc problem or a player problem.

The disc problems mentioned appear to be typical compatibility issues between player and disc mastering that should be rectified with a firmware patch, which Panasonic has stopped providing for well over a year (past the pandemic, so that's not a full excuse). |

I understand that the DP-UB820 and DP-UB420 share the same remote, where the DP-UB9000 remote is different. I cannot find an 'Audio' button on the remotes for 820/420, but UB9000 has one. Since the UB9000/820/420 all share the same firmware, this feature, if implemented by Panasonic, would be implemented across all systems. The button would need to be present on all remotes, what does 'Option' do upon playback, does that bring up an on-screen/overlay menu? |

What are you asking, mate? a way to change the audio during playback? if so, press OPTIONS and it brings up the audio/subtitle tabs and you can cycle through them if permitted.
