It's hard to understand Panasonic's thinking sometimes. Mind you, they won't release their OLEDs in the U.S.

Hi, I have a Epson 9300 projector, without the possibility of having DV, Do you think the previous model, the 420 is enough talking about picture for the projector?
Thank you and sorry for my english. |

I thought the 820 had a different processor than the 420, but maybe someone can verify.

They are the same picture quality wise, same HCX processor and its features, 420 lacks Dolby Vision support and 7.1 analog audio output and that's about it. But the 420 is half the price so basically if you don't care about DV then the 420 to go, it's about 220 euros.

Any word on what nit level those different HDMI settings (Oled, projector etc.) target?
What did the old UB900 and UB704 target as roll off for their tone mapping? |

Now even the remote has the same button layout. The 820 has a little bit longer remote with slightly bigger buttons but the button layout is the same for the 420 and 820. Rear IO is now the main difference ,the 820 has 7.1 analog audio output. |

A friend who is starting to know 820 told me this:As video quality .... really good with high quality starting material .... while with less "valuable" titles, the image looks very compact and clean, but loses detail .... as if there was a kind of "noise reduction" always active. Has anyone noticed this?
