Hopefully, the x800M2 does indeed come out in May (some reports are saying September). If it is indeed September then I am going to get the Panny 820.

Perhaps Robert is able to get this across to his Panasonic contacts... Would love a fimware update that disables this or at least makes it optional. |

that was a guess, there is no auto power off in the device setup menu?

Do you think that Quick Start may pose additional wear to a player? As I see it it keeps the main CPU on all the time so the firmware is loaded and audio and video circuitry off. I connected a USB flash drive on my Panasonic UB420 with the Quick Start enabled and when I switched the player off the led on the USB flash drive remained on.
Another question, while playing an HDR10+ on a HDR10+ TV set, what does the Panasonic players OSD show? Do they say they're playing the disc as HDR10+? |

The auto shutdown after 20 minutes (including while a movie is paused) was a pathetically bad decision by Panasonic. Competitor's products offer the ability to turn off the auto-shutdown in their settings menu. Panasonic should do the same.
Fortunately, Robert Zohn is attempting to convince Panasonic's engineers that we need that feature (control of auto-shutdown in settings menu). Robert has hinted that there may be reason to have hope. But... the wait for this feature to be implemented in a firmware update is driving me bonkers. I regret not having the feature EVERY time I use the UB9000. Mark |

I'm a projector owner, as well as someone who hates wasting power, so not sure why I'd ever not want auto shutdown. I agree it should be an option if you don't want, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. I couldn't live without the subtitle features. I even hate it when I have to go back to my oppo to play other region blu rays....

Well I can respect not wanting to waste power, but I have had multiple occassions when I had to pause a movie for more than 20 minutes.
But besides that, I just hate it when things are forced upon me. It might sound like I'm overreacting but when you think about it: I don't need/want auto shutdown, so why is this not optional? |

Granted this is a rare scenario for me. Maybe like once a month I leave the projector running for awhile while we eat dinner or something. |
