After you got it and watched few 4K Dolby Vision flicks, can you please give us everything we need and want to know?

I want to check out how the HDR optimizer performs with my projector first, that's where I initially bought it for.

Are you using an Arve curve currently with your Sony 260?

I'm using pre-defined custom gamma curves which are based on the principle of the Arve tool if I'm not mistaken.

Just wondering if the 820 makes the older dvds look as good as the OPPO 203 player ? I still have 100's of dvd's in addition to blurays and 4k discs . Any word on a usa release ?

From earlier in the thread:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=138

For other confirmed details on the 820, use the search function for all Robert Zohn posts in this thread. Robert is from Value Electronics and has an early production unit he's testing (or at least did have one-he may have had to send it back). Robert will get the first US batch of 820's when they become available.

Does anyone know if their Netflix app supports Atmos, even on the current models? I'm not so worried about Dolby Vision as I'm on a projector.

De Portugal,
Well the consensus is either a Sony or JVC. Many say the JVC have a superior image, but unless you are spending a LOT of money it is fake 4k resolution. Sony's are true 4k. Probably best to look at the AVSForums regards projector information, as opposed to here. Personally, I prefer Sony, and have a 675es. JVC may possibly give better blacks, but they have such poor firmware and hardware issues it is a bit of a joke. Most people have to invest a lot of time and money setting up HDFury devices to try get the projector to behave half decently, and you still have to put up with ridiculous hdmi sync/handshake times.

You really need a light controlled room like a movie theater to appreciate it though.

After having a projector for a couple of months, I'd never be able togo back to a panel tv.

Plus you still have 3D which is still great.

Hello,

thank you so much Mobe1969

I do not understand anything about a projector.

I do not have time to firmwhare and ......

it works in a room of 3.10x4.75 meters ???

so it's better to think of a Sony

I'm in AVSforum I'm going to see

Thank you

De Portugal,

■ The new Panasonic 4K Blu-ray players should be a good match with any and all of those.

De Portugal,

My room is 3.6 x 4.8m, 110" screen, with the projector on the rear wall, so the lens is about 4.1m from the screen. It is plenty bright enough and great black levels, and I have it on low lamp and iris at 60%. I run custom gamma curves so have it with HDR off/low lamp. I'm interested in the panasonic to see how the HDR optimizer compares to the custom curves. Especially if it can handle it dynamically depending on the title.

3.1m wide you might be limited to about 100" screen unless you aren't using tower speakers, or have speakers behind an acoustically transparent screen.
