I wouldn't mind checking it out, but on a 9 foot wide screen I'm not sure streaming is ever going to work for me.

I have 8ft wide screen and streaming already looks like garbage.

As of this moment no price or additional promotional change on the UB9000.

I am thankful it's not effected by the tariffs. No Chinese parts or labor on the UB9000.

Do you offer extended warranties on your products? Something comparable to the Geek Squad plan?

Default Hands-On With JVC’s Dynamic Tone Mapping Update

Many people that own a high-end JVC projector normally purchase either a Panasonic or Pioneer 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player with tone mapping technology. JVC came out with a firmware update for Dynamic tone mapping and Sound and Vision magazine wrote an article on the firmware update.

QUOTE

"In a departure for JVC, the company didn’t announce new D-ILA projector models at CEDIA Expo in September 2019. Instead, JVC’s key announcement at the show was a firmware update for the native 4K projector line it had unveiled at the previous CEDIA Expo in 2018. (Supported models include the DLA-NX9, DLA-NX7, DLA-NX5, DLA-RS3000, DLA-RS2000, and DLA-RS1000.)"

JVC will be due for a new line of projector "refreshments" in a year as many FP manufacturers are on two year cycles and I will likely upgrade then. Everyone tells me DTM is better and I don't doubt it, but honestly, I've been very pleased with my 820 tone mapping (cannot say the same with former Arve curves).

I had a RS400 with a 820 and it doesn't come close to my RS1000 now as far as DTM goes.

I've had two reliable sources who have seen or have both tell me it would be a moderate upgrade in my specific set-up as I only watch disc and my room is fully black.

Is it night and day? No. But I do see a big upgrade.

The 9000 has landed... just picked it up and plugged it in... played through the first 20 minutes of Bladerunner 2049 and everything looked and sounded great. Will throw in a couple more movies tonight and throughout the weekend but having some calibration work being done next week so full thoughts won’t be in for a while. This thing is built like a tank though and the remote was better than I had read about... any remote with full lighting on it works for me.

Anyone have an issue with the USB port.
I tried a HD with AVCHD, MKV, Mpeg2 files and the 820 is not seeing any of the files. (?)
It claims there are no files in the folder.
