Did you know that the latest UB9000's 1.66 firmware, exclusive for China, allows you to load subtitles from USB drive?

But **** the subtitles, have you tried any of the problematic DV titles like Midway and Knives Out to see if 1.66 fixes them? |

For Knives Out, when I watched it I had DV off in my player (watched in HDR10) so I didn't see the freeze, but I'm sure it's there because it's been reported by several users. |

Yes, it added DV because the chipset inside the 420 is basically the same one as in the 820 and 9000, it's just got stuff disabled via firmware. |

To confirm: when these two titles are played in DOLBY VISION on the DV-enabled Panasonic players then they freeze up at specific points in the presentation. They do not freeze when played in HDR10. |

On a DV-enabled TV then someone could simple choose HDR10, yes, but that isn't the point. DV can provide superior processing on some TVs so if whatever newfangled way of encoding DV that Lionsgate are using affects future titles on Panasonic players when playing *in* DV then people would like to have it corrected at the source playback level, not with a workaround that owes more to luck (and no QC) than judgement. |

But for example, with my TV I can opt to disable DV within the Panasonic player and it will play the HDR10. That is a workaround to avoid the known freezing issues. |
