Also the cooling fan is constantly on. You must be very lucky to have one with a quite optical drive.
It’s a shame that more effort was not put into the build quality so it would match the quality of its internal processing.
Are you referring to normal movie play or disc functions such as next chapter or fast forward and such?

UB820's sold in Belgium.
Why is that and not UB824's.

They are suppose to be the same machine, but different model number...so if that's the case, why is it important?

Because that's how they are selling them.

Compare

https://www.panasonic.com/be/nl/cons...ay-player.html

Well France uses UB820 and Germany uses UB824. Are you confused more?

Its not the AC power that whole EU region uses either C, E, F power adaptors (230V 50 hz). see https://www.power-plugs-sockets.com

We're filling every order on our priority wait list and still have more to sell from the 1st allotment. Panasonic doubled our 1st allocation!

I am half tempted to return my Sony x700 which I just bought and buy this.

Do you know when your going to start shipping them and how long it would take to deliver to central PA?

The container with our UB820s arrived at the CA port and we're waiting for customs clearance and dock traffic to release the container.

My best guess is we'll receive our 1st allocation of UB820s by the end of next week.

HDR10+ becomes important for the Blu-ray format once studios start releasing movies in HDR10+.

OHHHHH BOY! Am I in there? Tell those CA customs folks I can just go pick it up. No need to go to NY and back to LA. I'm in LA. haha.

Plenty Time already right?

Warner Bros, pulled out of the HDR10+ consortium and dropped support for HDR10+, leaving Fox as the lone Hollywood studio supporting HDR10+.

Props to Big John for raising a few issues with the methodology of the test itself. 3 out of 4 TVs are OLEDs as well as the reference monitors, so it's not a surprise that...OLED wins! (Though it could be one in a field of twenty and still win) With LG you've got the punchier HDR but the worst processing, with Sony you've got the best processing & motion handling but the dimmest HDR, with Panasonic you've got top-notch processing and Vincent's preferred static tone mapping solution...but no Dobly! I did like Vincent's review of the recent Panny OLEDs though, and being able to control the gamma at those extremely tricky near-black levels to suppress posterisation and blocking is something that greatly pleases a geek like me.
