Yes that is what the price was, but they didn't want it hanging in store so when I asked they went ahead and knocked off another 100.It is in excellent condition, although the box itself was nt to good....lol

Nice. I’ve never seen an open box in store. Only online. But yes the box was destroyed.

I too purchased a UB9000 opened box at Best Buy more than a year ago for $549. Unit was/is in excellent conditions.

Still amazes me that you guys can return electronics in the US, especially TVs.

Unbeatable price on that used UB9000 from Best Buy but it's also a bit of a gamble since they leave it on all day in the Magnolia show room playing discs. I would bite on another one for that price to even knowing it's been used quite heavily and with plenty of hours on it. If the UB9000 is ever discontinued prices going to sky rocket like with the 203/205 Oppo's and Pioneer LX500.
Pretty sure they would take back a cracked screen TV out of the box where you are from. I have had it happen like two times over the years and it leaves you feeling gypped until you return it. Last edited by danny24; 05-10-2021 at 10:17 PM. |

Our washing machine is leaking from the door (bought from the UK's largest white goods retailer) and we've spoken to the lady in the Philippines so many times over the last few days arranging a service call we know the sound of her voice. Once something is 30 days after purchase you have to go through call centres. |

Banging my head against the wall trying to figure out what setting is off on my 9000. I play UHD's and BD's but for some reason Rush: Clockwork Angels only outputs sound after you see the first logo popping up. It works fine in my OPPO 203. Pops up as SDR and then just goes dark on screen with only sound.

Some quick questions if I may??
In the settings there is the ability to turn Dolby Vision on and off. Also HDR10+ on and off. What happens when you turn them off? Does the Panasonic re-map the HDR info down to a level that a display can handle? As my display is a projector and I don't recon any projector handles HDR that well I'm thinking it is best to turn both off and let the HCX chipset do a re-map. Am I on the right track? It occurred to me that if you turn these functions off might mean the player just doesn't output any HDR info. So that is why I'm asking. Below are the specs on my display (Ultra 3). I set colour Gamut to BT2020. ![]() |

Also...
Does everyone use high clarity sound? I usually like these things turned off. However in this case the high clarity sound function allows the ability to turn off the display light when playing a disc. A must for me. I can't hear any adverse effects to high clarity sound being on. I actually think the UB9000 is producing a very clean/clear sound. A little clearer than the UB820. I'm guessing the separate circuitry is helping just a tad. |
