I mean, if you don’t mind sounding a bit rude, it could be...

To be fair, from your post it did seem like you hadn’t read through the thread about the Friday receipt date, and he/she was just trying to be helpful. I mean in theory if everything goes well they’ll all be shipped out the same day, so you’d likely get your own shipping notification around the same time (or sooner) as someone will post here about theirs.

If someone was paying attention to the thread, they would note I recently posted I ordered one from Robert, so the 27th is not a mystery. Therefore they shouldn't assume I haven't read the thread when they obviously aren't paying attention.

It was just a playful post that we are close to shipping date. I could have always posted the captain obvious meme, which would have been funnier (to me). The "duh" was playful too, people take things too seriously sometimes.

I have 5040UB & UB900. The HDR optimizer functionality in 820 got me interested. Wanted to know if there any functionality I will be losing by ditching UB900 for UB820? The model number already making me feel like I am downgrading.

Update:

We have now confirmed our UB820 shipment has been handed off to our carrier and is now in transit to us with an expected delivery of Monday, July 30th. If they arrive early enough we’ll be able to get every order double boxed and shipped the same day. At worst we expect every order to ship no later than Tuesday, July 31st.

This final delay was caused by US Customs not handing off the container to the dock traffic group who move the freight to the loading docks for the common carriers to p/u.

Sorry for the unexpected delay as you know this is the very first allocation to arrive in the USA and we are Panasonic's exclusive launch partner for the UB820 and UB9000.

Just got this from Robert:

"Thank you for placing your order with us for Panasonic’s new UB820 Blu-ray player! Your order is anticipated to ship Monday, July 30. You will get an email with your tracking information when it ships. "

Ditto that. Outstanding communicator. Genuine passion for what he does. I appreciate him as I am sure many of us here do as well.

Hi everyone, is the Hollywood Cinema Experience (HCX) processor bring better picture quality than all the other 4K players out there? Trying to find out if HCX is marketing gimmick or if I’ll notice benefits on my OLED compared to a cheaper Blu Ray player.

From what I have read and seen online, the two best players you can buy are Panasonic and Oppo for their superior processing.

Just curious Robert, have you heard anything about Panasonic re-entering the US market for TVs or have they given up and handed this market over to LG, Sony, and Samsung?

Very sad to say no Panasonic TVs in the USA for the consumer market this year.

I have literally begged the management to let the high-end consumer market have access to the new 2018 OLED displays they are bringing in for the professional and post production Hollywood houses with no success.

I guess we will have to move to (or visit?) Canada to buy Panasonic OLEDS.

Sadly no USA warranty on electronics purchased in Canada so if you want a warranty you would need to move to Canada for at least the 1 yr warranty term.

If Panasonic is reliable enough, just take a chance that nothing goes wrong. I think almost all TVs are very reliable at this juncture.
