He wants an on-screen A/V sync without interupting playback, avoiding main menus, without restarting playback due an absent resume playback functionality.

You can do that through the OPTIONS button, it doesn't affect playback.

I'll post some pictures of what I suggested about 4:3, but Panasonic in the past have said, "it is what it is...".

Maybe Option or even Playback Info or Audio
That was what I liked about the Sony x-700, you could do it while watching the movie from the remote.
Check the OPTIONS button @Gold Ranger, according to @chip75 A/V sync should be possible without interrupting playback.

Report if the issue was resolved.

It's all up to @chip75 to confirm it then, if it's indeed possible to adjust A/V sync without interrupting playback.

Sorry, are we talking about changing the audio/subtitle options or audio delay?

@Gold Ranger wants to adjust A/V sync, i.e. adjusting the audio to match up/be in sync with the video, subtitles follow the video, doesn't it?

The 820 by Panasonic is what I have I have had no issues or problems playing discs like Discs skipping which I have heard some people said they have had happened to them. The movies In 4K wthout the HDR look amazing and the 1080p discs look even more amazing and the Discs that are 4K HDR look amazing when you compare It to the Sony x700. The other Sony 4K blu ray players I wouldn't touch any of them because they don't do a very job of upscaling the dvd's or the Blu-Rays as well as the Panasonic 4K Blu Ray players do especially the Panasonic 4K 820 unit. It has all the bells and whistles compared to any of the 4K Blu-Ray Players that are out. LG and Sony can't compete In the 4K Blu Ray Player market against psnasonic.

IMO the Sony UHD players X800M2 and X1100ES have very acceptable 4K upscaling. Is it as good as the UB820 and UB9000, no. The x700 is a tiny UHD player and not a fair comparison to judge Sony's 4K upscaling when compared to the Panasonic players. No doubt though the Panasonic's are the best 4K upscaling players with the HCX processor. X1100ES and X800M2 are pretty solid though to be fair. I have never been a big fan though of LG's disc players. Sony and Panasonic make the best disc players on the market now.

Sorry that option doesn't come up with the OPTION button. If you're going through an AVR I'd use its settings as you'll have better feedback as you can hear your results.

@chip75, right, thanks for confirming.

@Gold Ranger, you don't have an A/V receiver with A/V sync possibilities?

I have my tv, video player and reciever.
Player feeds into tv and reciever.
I just ordered two 8k Dolby Vision HDMI cables. That way I can put player-reciever-tv instead of the player split off video and audio

But, the player should have an option for it with a pop-up.

Don't think that'll ever happen, not a choice of Panasonic, but forced by Blu-ray Disc Association:

Yogi6807, you have DP-UB9000 or DP-UB820? Figured I should add player/s in my disc compatibility issue list, you mentioned Ghost In The Shell '95?
