Outside of confirmed disc with issues, none of which I own, I have had zero issues with any disc.

What happened when you played Bad Boys 1?

Maybe I should get a 820 too? What benefits would I get compared to the 420 since I’m using it on a projector so really no need for Dolby Vision?
Same tone mapping ability on the 420 and 820.

As I've stated before, my 820 works fine so long as the disc is 100% perfectly clean. 99.99% won't do it. Seriously. The disc has to be immaculate.

My 2 Phatom Menace and Last Crusade discs have been perfect physically and absolutely clean. I just read someone had the exact same issue with Last Crusade with its 420 and even tried a second copy and same thing.

Maybe there’s actually a step down in playback quality from the 9000 and 820 to the 420?

I had no issues with any of the Star Wars discs.

I'm hoping to finally get to the Indy boxset starting tonight...with Raiders. Once I get to The Last Crusade, I will report back.

For example, Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace… After the first minutes it keeps pixalating and skipping. I exchanged it for a new one and same thing happened. Then with my Indiana Jones Collection same exact is happining with The Last Crusade. I should mention I cleaned those discs in many ways and it did nothing. Now,It doesn’t happen with every disc but it happens.

Thing is, I tried those discs on my Sony X700 and they played perfectly fine, so… I came to the concluson it couldn’t be the discs but the player. Should I exchange the Indiana Jones set for a new one? the problem seems to be only with Last Crusade

I also some times wonder if I buy the same player again, would it give the same issue?

Thanks for your orientation in advance guys!
I talked with you before in the Phantom Menace forum. I'm not sure if you saw what I wrote but I would switch around the HDMI cables that goes to your receiver and hook it directly to the projector and see what it does. That way, you can rule out if it's a receiver issue or a player issue.

Oh yeah sorry, in my head I replied you. Yeah I did that and same result. And again, my Sony player goes through the sams receiver and no playback problem whatsoever. Thank you.

As a general rule if you can't repeat the identical glitch, in all likelihood it's cause by dust/ finger print, or some other oil/material on the disc.

The Knives Out Dolby Vision glitch has been tested and experienced by every owner of the disc, and it's offensive that Panasonic still hasn't fixed it.

All the Indiana Jones movies worked perfectly from beginning to end in Dolby Vision on the 820. I read from two users here that they had flawed Last Crusade discs, but seems to be very rare.

Agree… so which is to blame in my case, the disc or the player? Again, my Sony X700 play it without issues, so its hard not to blame the player, yet how come all dozens of other discs the Panny play them perfectly? its so confusing

Something is strange. The titles you listed worked perfectly in my 9000.

Not really, they're all identical with the only big difference being that the 820 and 9000 can do Dolby Vision.

For Crusade it's definitely the disc in my opinion. Are you located in Canada? The other user who had this issue was located in Canada and thought it might be a problem that affects some of the Canadian stock of discs.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I’m in Mexico really, but my edition was sent by Amazon USA.

That brings me back to the other question; if its a faulty disc why a player wouldn’t play it and another will and without issues? These things are so puzzling

I’m considering getting the UB150 as an alternate player, specially for these type of cases. I’m using a projector so need for Dolby Vision, just HDR10 and of course atmos and dtsx sounds. I also dont use anymore the HDR Optimizer as I let only my projector’s tone mapping do the work. I need the subtitles brightness control so that’s why I’m considering yet another panasonic. Would I find the PQ on the 150 different to my 420 giving my use case? specially for the lack of the HCX processor

Today is a bad day for Panasonic. Vincent Teoh today practically destroyed the new Panasonic JZ2000, that received one of the worst reviews ever for its brand.

I think I found my first perma-glitch with the 9000.

The player does not like 'The Hills Have Eyes' 4K BD. It forces Dnynamic Range Conversion on it every time I put the disc in, even though the player is locked, and loaded for HDR all day, every day. I can usually get it to accept the HDR signal after a handful of minutes fussing with it (unplugging the player reset) but what a hassle! Right up there with the "High Calrity Sound "on" (which it never is) for head scratching behavior of this great...but slightly flawed player!

He almost always gives that to the top class TV's. What's more telling is that he didn't give it the "best in class" award, which he did give to the Sony A90J.
