I'm on a 820 US model. EDIT: I think I get it. The proper file for US players might be this one: https://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com.../ub420_us.html They write the following: Format the USB device by FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 file system on a Microsoft Windows PC. (Please do not format by NTFS or exFAT file system.) Not sure what I can do then since my drives can't format into anything other than NTFS or exFAT. I wish the option to use the internet to download would work, but it doesn't. |

Just updated both 820 and 9004 and the Dolby Vision issues appear to finally be resolved.

How does it work when you put a USB flash drive with the update file? Does it update automatically or does it start a launcher?
I found a prehistoric flash drive that I was able to format in FAT32. I then transferred the firmware file to it and inserted it into the front of the UB820. The screen went black and various messages appear on the LCD screen of the 820 (currently has a flashing W MAIN). EDIT Ok looks like it finished and worked. Fantastic. Might depend on the flash drive read speeds. For me it took about 5-8 minutes. You’ll know when it’s over cause it should say finished on the little lcd panel. At that point I unplugged and powered off.

Mine also works in that you change the region while it’s already on by pressing 1 or 2 with the disc tray open. Edit: turns out I was wrong. It did break the region free. I guess I’ll have to contact 220. The previous disc I tried was probably just not region locked. Last edited by Nori; 09-29-2021 at 11:07 PM. |

I'm sure they'll sort it out. Firmware updates shouldn't affect the mod, you don't have to reset the region code? |

Is this basically the firmware update that China has had for some time or did Panasonic add some newer patches? Problematic Lionsgate DV titles running smooth now? |
