I recently picked up the UB820 and have a question about the audio setting.
I'm utilizing both HDMI ports for the best look and sound. My set up is: Onkyo TX-NR787 TCL 65R625 QLED 6 Series and the Panny. Digital Audio Settings as Follows: Bitstream and BD Secondary - OFF Curious as to why the UB820 when hitting the audio button on the remote pop-up display says Multi-Channel/TruHD even if you scroll to the D.Atmos setting. My Onkyo shows Dolby Atmos is being decoded. So my guess is the disc is decoding properly through the receiver as it should and not worry so much about what the UB820 shows on its display window? thanks for any advice! |

han solo ...hello they have only .. I have a panasonic ub 820 I would be interested in putting on the modified firmware 1.69A .. for the external subtitles ,,, but I have seen that the subtitles that come out are white with a purple background .. do you know if they are going to modify for letting white subtitles appear without a purple background ... it has been possible to contact them to tell them ... thank you

I've had this for about a week and noticed that some blu-rays look fine and others have a flicker/white speckles during playback. When I switch the output to 1080p for blu-ray discs it inproves the situation but the flicker is still there, slightly. If I upgrade my HDMI cable to 2.1 from 2.0 does anyone think this may fix the issue without me having to manually switch outputs when going from blu-ray disc to 4K disc?

It is a LOT better. If it’s not, then there is something wrong/incomplete about your player’s settings. You can DM me and I’ll give you the settings.

Thank you. It’s going to be hooked to a C7. Main thing I want to try and clean up is some gradient issues in things like sky shots. Right now some look like they have multiple separate steps of color instead of a smooth blend. I know some material that’s just inherent and also my tv is no longer the best but I’m sure it’s still got some wow left in it. It’s not a professional calibration at all but I’ve been down enough threads to know I’ve got the tv dialed in a good amount.

The Panasonic DP-UB9000 for $999.99 from B and H Photo and others is Panasonics top of the line flagship 4K Blu-ray player. However, Panasonic second best 4K Blu-ray player is the DP-UB820-K which sells for $499.99 and is out of stock at many places including B and H Photo out of stock. However Amazon still has the Panasonic DP-UB820-K in stock for $499.99.

Strangely, I've gotten drops & speckles at the main player menu for the 820, but never when I play a disc or in the disc menu.
I've ordered a new Zeskit 2.1 HDMI cable to hopefully put that to bed as I assume it's a cabling issue like it usually is. |

How long is your run? If it's longer then 20ft I would go active. Ruipro are slightly expensive but they are one of the better active HDMI cables out there(tested by AVS members). If shorter than 20ft I would go Bluejean cables. Last edited by panasonicst60; 12-07-2021 at 10:27 PM. |

I tested and recommended Zeskit to my clients. Thus far about 98% success rate.
