As mentioned, go into the audio setting of the Panasonic player where you can set individual audio types to output as bitstream or PCM. Change the DTS one from bitstream to PCM and see what happens. |

My UB9000 likes saying Goodbye. How do I fix this? If I open the drawer I can place a disc in it. But then I cannot close the drawer without turning the player back on. Then it will say Goodbye again a few times. Luckily, eventually, the disc will play. So far.
I should have bought two of these machines when I had the chance. The machines with the older DAC. |

I have both the old and the new versions of 9000, while there is a slight difference between the two DACs, I have no preference between the two. |

I'm pretty sure the new DAC does not handle 352.8kHz · 24bit. I know the old one does.
The Goodbye problem was solved by updating to 1.69 firmware. It had 1.60 before. Last edited by cupboy; 12-29-2021 at 08:40 PM. |

![]() [Show spoiler] You know what I think happened? The fact that digital audio output is placed on a longer white bar than the rest made me think it was a header with options listed below. So when I looked underneath it I was like, "where are the options to turn off the bit steaming?" Never thought to try and just click digital audio output. ![]() |

The BDP-93/95 and BDP-103/105 are more or less the same for SD DVD playback (as each other). These models are very good with SD material but whether they are better than the DV-983/BDP-83—I could never find conclusive info. I’ve heard the earlier models (DV-983/BDP-83) are slightly better for SD DVD, but I’ve read at least once that the newer Marvell Kyoto-G2 chips in the BDP-93/95/103/105 were better for PAL playback (PAL to NTSC conversion??). All of the above is second hand mostly from this and various other internet forums. The main point of knowledge is that the DV-983 & BDP-83 use the Anchor Bay ABT2010 video chip while the BDP-93/95/103/105 use the Marvell Kyoto-G2 Qdeo chips. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the above Oppos. Last edited by cicada88; 12-30-2021 at 04:29 AM. Reason: clarifications |

Oh, I could definitely be mistaken but that’s what I had read. I personally use a BDP-83. If you need region free and PAL to NTSC conversion then Oppo seems like the easy choice.
