I just tried my Series X as a 4K player. Good gravy, what a colossal nightmare.
I don't even have the time to list all the things it does wrong. If 2023 is indeed the last year the Panasonic UB9000, and 820 are available, I'm buying one more of each (hopefully before the scalper/frenzy buying starts). Turns out I don't wany any other 4K player. Ever. |

Well, my player won't let me access to the settings menu no matter what I do, when it enters, it automatically returns to the home menu in within one second. I updated firmware, factory reset, plug and unplugg, turned it off and on several times, nothing works. Does anyone have any similar problem ?

Originally, I had set the remote control code to 2 because the Panasonic DVD player I have was in the same frequency. When I did a factory reset my remote wouldn’t work because code had been changed. I used a universal remote to set the player back to 2. Then no problem. |

Why does the HDMI-output column of playback info always display the audio stream as PCM 5.1 48kHz no matter what the original audio format is? Currently I'm outputting audio through HDMI video as stereo PCM since the audio will eventually go to an active speaker connected to the TV's eARC port. BD secondary audio is also disabled, and naturally all formats are set to be converted into PCM by the player. I think it's better to have this player do the conversion to not strain the TV's processors too much, am I right to assume this? In fact there's an audible difference between the TV's and this player's conversion, when the TV gets bitstream and puts out in PCM, the sound is noticeably duller.
