no problem
for some background read p.12 of….. https://www.dvb.org/resources/public...vb-scene54.pdf news - at IBC 2019, on the UHD Forum stand in the Future Zone there will be a demonstration of a broadcast transport stream compliant with the new DVB specifications, being modulated into an LG C9 television. This DVB-T2 broadcast stream includes SMPTE 2094-10 dynamic metadata and is decoded by the television and displayed in a Dolby Vision picture mode. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edit: We will probably never know. After thinking on it a bit, should it not have been turned off? I know LG and Sony have their own “dynamic tone mapping” that is very good, but then that would only show their expertise in displaying an HDR10 signal, correct? So my question is this indeed a fair comparison between static and dynamic metadata content for this specific set??? Last edited by Staying Salty; 09-13-2019 at 04:58 PM. |

IBC2019 Conference: Beyond the pixel race: Preserving creative intent from UHD and HDR to 8K and beyond -
https://ibc.gallery.video/ibctv/deta...Start#t=22m40s ^ yes, perhaps from an inexperienced consumer perspective (who, for that matter, are clueless as to what IBC is) that is correct, but Blu-ray.com readers already knew how to “do it” for years by having red the tech subforums here, additionally, as a bonus, they exclusively (nowhere else on thee internet) saw a focus pulled pic of the background of the Top Gun: Maverick set where the public service announcement was filmed - Quote:

Photo below, it's MUCH darker than the other two ^ because my camera can't get the highlights otherwise, but you see what I mean. Not the exact same frame either as the 4K60 clip cripples my OPPO if I try to step frame forward, but then those two photos ^ aren't the same frame either. ![]() |
