Well good news... Just got an Email from Best Buy saying a few of the Fox titles I pre-ordered have shipped.

Got tracking info as well... but still thinking of picking at least one up in person tomorrow.

Not yet. The Best Buy at Park Lane just emailed me and said Kingman will be ready for pick up Sunday February 14th. Hoping they have others in stock as well or its ordering off Best Buy web page. This high end format always starts at the stores with Magnolia then spreads from there because when I purchased my first UHD in 2013 the Park Lane store in Dallas was the second Best Buy to sell UHD TVs (Houston had a location). Good luck finding the titles you are looking for fellow Dallasite!

Unfortunately not.

Although Samsung are supposedly releasing the player in March and it comes with a copy of The Martian for free which is a plus.

I just wish there were some pre orders up since we're half way through Feb already.

Deadpool got released in Dolby Vision. Which means a 4K grade and 4K resolution. But just with 2K effects.

That doesn't automatically mean it's 4K, Everest got released in DV and that was definitely 2K.

The Martian was released in Dolby Vision too. That one had already rumors of a 4K release. Dolby Vision is something else, than the regular 2K DCP everybody else gets.

And besides Dolby Vision doesn't grade in 2K, and prefer RAW files, as you know.

I think you're assuming a bit too much there Pieter. 2K Dolby Vision DCPs for Everest and Scorch Trials confirmed here: http://www.avsforum.com/the-martian-...d-atmos-sound/

Yes, the Martian was rebuilt in 4K when they did the HDR grade but clearly it's the exception rather than the rule at this point in time.

Thanks to Dolby Vision HDR and 4K resolution, it looked and sounded better than any movie I’ve seen in a theater.

Touché. Perhaps from here on out every DV grade will be rebuilt in 4K (if not a straight upscale) but there are still some extant ones that aren't, and if I were a betting man I'd include those Warners DV titles announced in early 2015 as part of the 2K line up too. There's no way you're getting a true 4K-rez version of The Lego Movie any time soon...

How do we know AVS actually knows whether or not the DCP is 4K as opposed to a blind guess and/or assumption? (this in reference to Deadpool, since the previous AVS article seemed to look into the specifics).

I thought that too, it sounds a bit like an assumption but then Pieter could level the same accusation at my own AVS link ("how do you know Everest wasn't finished at 4K for DV?") so I'll call it 1-1 and leave it there.

Well the Sony 4k projector upscaled it to 4k so I saw it in 4k also...

I am all basing my info, on that CES 2016 interview from Dolby Vision.

I have a better solution. I just e-mailed JT Eindhoven here in the Netherlands. Free info: it was the very first Dolby Vision theater in the world.

http://investor.dolby.com/releasedet...leaseID=885978

Hopefully they can tell me, if there is a 4K DCP.

Director on the DV grade.

The very first? It's still one of the only DV theaters in the world, the rollout in Europe in particular has been shocking. But thanks for checking on Deadpool.

Yes, Eindhoven was the first one. Wikipedia also notes this.
