I’d certainly say it’s “a bit of a problem” when the talent is no longer available to supervise it and one must consider “who makes these decisions?” when “It can only be the director or the artists that worked on the film.”

I lost thousands of dollars yesterday…..and that’s despite having (luckily) moved much of our portfolio into the safer haven of lousy yielding bonds a couple months back. What the hell we’re you Brits thinking? How can I justify to the wife now getting a new 4K/UHD tv for one of the other rooms in our San Diego place after we took a hit like that?

P.S.
On a more serious note, little known fact (at least outside football circles) is that Lionel Messi was afflicted with growth hormone deficiency as a child (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...uper-star.html ) which is the prime reason for the greatest soccer player in the world to have left Argentina and move to Barcelona to seek treatment (https://www.theguardian.com/football...e-lionel-messi ).

Messi and his national team play today in the Copa Final on Fox Sports 1 at 5:00 P.M EST, I believe, but for those having interest check your local listings.

It's called passion, Pete.

Anyway, one wonders how crazy the Icelandic commentary will be after this evening's game [no spoilers]

So all football fans are thugs and wife beaters? Classy. One of the good things to come from tournaments like this is that while there's a lot of ugliness from a minority of supporters (which usually gobbles up all the headlines and fuels the usual ignorance) the majority of the supporters (men, women and children, not just beer-bellied buffoons) all mingle peacefully and are just there to have a good time. But that doesn't make for good copy, unsurprisingly.

4k blu ray sales continue to impress!

http://www.homemediamagazine.com/hig...st-start-38350

Studio executives are cheered by early Ultra HD Blu-ray sales numbers, which far surpassed expectations.

A total of 45 Ultra HD titles have been released on Blu-ray Disc since March — and according to Home Media Magazine market research, consumers bought more than 228,000 discs as of June 24.

By comparison, Blu-ray Disc, launched in June 2016, moved just 57,000 units in the comparable time frame.

That’s not surprising, analysts say. Industry observers expect the rapid advance of Ultra HD — the much-ballyhooed new format that not only offers viewers four times the resolution of HD, but also includes high dynamic range (HDR), which produces brilliant highlights, vibrant colors and greater contrast on compatible displays — to trigger a resurgence in overall Blu-ray Disc sales, which already are tracking up 3% for the year in units and 6% in dollars, Home Media Magazine market research numbers show.

I was thinking more of murder.

But no, I honestly wasn't at all thinking all fans are thugs and abusers.

I don’t know what happened yesterday in Euro 2016, but it must have been something really significant because everyone today is asking me (from work to the contractor’s crew doing some remodeling on our home) if I’d watched the two matches that were scheduled on Monday.

Not yet, but I’ve extended the recording time on all matches for at least an hour in case they go to extra time and PKs. Over the years, I’ve learned that the hard way

Although as I type this, the summary of the 9 SMPTE technology committees and 11 subgroups scheduled meetings is not yet posted on the SMPTE website….
https://www.smpte.org/standards/meeting-reports
I can inform readers that around 70 committee members attended in person over the 4 days at the venue hosted by CBS…

with additional participation by remote access.

Coming up soon is a SMPTE standards update webcast covering the June meeting which is free and available to everyone….http://events.r20.constantcontact.co...&llr=iwnzoxjab

Feel free to ask the speakers about the progress of ST 2094 applications, such as Application #4 and they’ll do the best they can to inform.
