The thing that keeps getting me on this cover is the clashing color palettes. The new Tron color scheme is really pastel compared to the original--aqua blue and orange instead of the more primary blues and reds of Tron, and that shows in the logos and clashes. I think you might need to sacrifice the original color scheme and shift them so they tone in better (BPM struggled with the same thing on his recent collection cover, and when he switched I think it made a world of difference).

You could, of course, do it the other way, but that seems like swimming upstream since most of your cover is the "new" style.

I think the concept is really neat though; it's one of those things where you'll look at the front logos, and won't even notice at first that there's an arm, and then find it leading around to the back. I like the way it ties together.
Yeah you might want to tinker with the classic Tron logo colors. Maybe keep the pink outline but make the internal part of the letters transparent?

I too like her without the helmet.

Other than those suggestions, the cover looks great.

Ok its not Blu-Ray, but I'm pretty happy with what I have come up with (I have basic photoshop skills lol), so I thought I would share it here;

This is the style of cover I am using for my WWF Raw 1996 and 1997 monthly sets. Each cover has a new wrestler on it, along with the spine, and the match info on the back.

Then I have done the same, but changed the front logo for 1998-2001, along with updated photos of the wrestlers:

I just finished 12 more covers today for 2001, with some help from Atexp80 in regards to cutting out around hair (very hard).

I thought it came out pretty well considering the quality of the images sourced. The WWF 'Scratch' logo was very hard to find, so I ended up scanning a T-Shirt to get a good quality version, then painstakingly cutting around it with the Pen tool to boost the white and remove any bad patches.

They look good, but they should be accurate, too. LOD, to my knowledge, was not featured in any matches in September of '98, and Sunny was released in July of '98.

Also, the scratch logo isn't too hard to find. Google search for "WWF attitude logo".

Does anyone have a link to where I can order some high quality paper that you've found to be the best for these?

The month on the spine is changeable (one text layer, change as I print), and was only on September for the tryout, and its the longest of the months so it was used when the text was right aligned, in order to make sure there was enough room for the rest of them.

I'm not to fussed on the 'accuracy' of who was in what month for the cover of that particular month. As long as they were in that year, its ok for me.

The only Attitude logos I found on google were low res images that were not large enough. The one I scanned is around 8000px wide.

I use Mohawk 50/10 80# Text. I am the graphic designer at the Minuteman Press in Chester, VA, so I have access to any paper and this is exactly/just like what the studios use. Just go to minutemanpress.com and find the closest shop to you, or try any other reputable print shop and they should have it also.

First: thanks for the link... will try it out. BTW, what printer do you use and what kind of ink would be best (I assume pigment over dye)?

Second: I also notice that the paper size is 11" x 17"; is there a version that is 8.5" x 11" (something that can fit into a regular printer)? Still:

$145.00 per 2000 (!!!)-sheet carton + Shipping? Even if shipping was $55.00, that would be $0.10 a sheet!

Third: can this be printed on the back as well (so if one wanted to print those monochromatic blue images on the inside of the blu-ray cover sleeve, they could)?

Another question for you guys:

how easy/hard is it to print on the inside of the official blu-ray cover sleeves (ie: Warner Brothers and Paramount do not print anything on the inside of the blu-ray cover sleeves, which makes them kind of cheap looking in my eyes. If I wanted to pull them out and run them through the printer, so as to print a mono-blue image on the inside, would that be possible)?

If it is possible, with what printer, printer setting and/or with what type of ink?

THe one I linked is 8.5 X 11, is there a reason to use 11X17?

Hmm, I remember someone mentioning using larger paper for a reason but I can't remember, but I thought it was x14 (legal size) to add ease of cutting or something like that.

I don't have a ruler to measure a blu-ray cover, could you print two on a 11x17 sheet?

----

Side track:
So according to my collection counter my next purchase will be #200. Thoughts on what to get? *EDIT* Although now that I look at my collection it says 188 movies, so I guess I have 12 to go

Actually, most cover art - DVD or Blu - won't fit on letter-sized (8.5 x 11") paper; the image itself is too big.

Well, from my own measurements, a generic 14mm case's artwork is about 3200 x 1700 pixels, or about 10.6 x 5.6" in size. Placed side by side, and rotated 90 degrees, that would be about 10.6 x 11.2", wich would be pushing the 11" mark just a bit. The 17" axis would have lots of room to spare for both covers, but the 10.6" mark would be a little too close for most printers to behave properly.

Not true for blu - I print all my blu-ray covers on 8.5x11

Here's a couple more covers I've cobbled together with my meager Photoshop skills. I'm happy to share the Wall Street cover for anyone who may want it. PM if interested...

As for the Tron cover I've made for my personal use, I'm just showing it to you all; I don't intend to share it, because I used back cover art from the custom covers of another member. (I hope that doesn't upset that person; it was certainly not my intention.)

I purchased the 5-disc 2-movie set, but I only wanted the Blu of TRON and the 2D Blu of LEGACY. So I sold off the 3D LEGACY and the DVD/Digital Copy discs as well. Needing a cover for the remaining two discs, this is what I mushed together...
