Also... The Black Cauldron, Fantasia 2000 version 2 and the fixed version of The Rescuers/The Rescuers Down Under are now available to download through my blog.
I love it, I would not even change the pic collage on the back as I think the choices are excellent. Hope you will share.

Still plugging away on this WIP as time allows:

I know that's usually true. But in this particular case it's obvious a print was used as evidenced by the visible dirt on the print that stays stationary in the frame even as the image moves, lines created in the projector gate etc. I have never seen such a poor transfer, it's in stereo but the picture quality is worse than VHS.

Default Planet of the Apes '68

Fox recently reissued the original Planet of the Apes with considerably better artwork than previous editions. I expect there are others like me that already have the disc, but might like the new cover. Here ya go...

Full res version is available at EuphoricFX.org (along with a matching label) or via PM. Include an email in the PM.

I agree. One of the problems I had with the older releases is that many gave away the "surprise" at the end.

I am still plugging away at "Treasure of the Four Crowns" which although a DVD release is of interest to at least one of our forum members

Putting the finishing touches on it. But of course (as always) I am open to comments and suggestions:

After I am done with this I plan to tackle another Warner Archive release. The story of WWII spy Eddie Chapman with Christopher Plummer, Yul Brynner, Trevor Howard and "Goldfinger" actor Gert Frobe in the Terence Young-directed "Triple Cross" from 1966.

Chapman is best known to people today after the best-selling book "Agent Zigzag" was published. What is of particular interest for James Bond fans is that Bond director Young (who directed "Dr. No", "From Russia With Love" and "Thunderball") shared a flat with Chapman at one point.

That will likely appear as one of my recurring features (the "Fascinating Film Fact") on my custom.

Of course if these movies appeared on BD I would do BD customs but they are only on DVD.

Well, here is some VERY humble work. We all know how crap the covers to the Mad Max series were all over the world, so took affirmative action over this one.

Breaking out the 3 original UK rental tapes from our vault, we used them as a base to re-create the Warner sleeves for Blu. Cleaning up the dirt & debris from the first two took ages, zooming right into the centre of the smallest lettering and giving it all a uniformly solid black. Probably doing more work than can be picked out by the printer anyway. It's not the best photo, but was being nagged by the Missus.

Still, hope they bring a smile to those of a certain age, with a fetish for uniforms. Um...Warner's lovely uniform rental packaging, that is...

Great idea, but somehow vaguely familiar. Where have I seen that before

Was unaware of the them. Merely compelled to recreate the UK covers due to the Blu ones put out by warner being so awful.

Oh, nothing sinister implied. Just pointing out we were all subject to the same impulse. I didn't have scans to work from so I recreated the layouts from scratch. Yours are much more authentic though. Keep 'em coming.

Hey Guys I would like your input in my MCU Phase II covers.
I'm starting to do the back, these are my first attempt at doing covers so I would love your critiques and ideas!

As a general rule I recreate the information that appeared on the back of the official Blu-ray/DVD cover.

For example all of the Warner Archive DVDs contain a box on the back stating that the DVD might not work in all PC DVD drives (not sure why because I had no problem).

Using Photoshop's rectangle tool with a clear fill with white border and identifying the font used I recreated the box for my Doc Savage custom.

When the official box-art does not feature the information I put the BD/DVD into my PC and use one of the programs out there that reads the BD/DVD and details all the technical specs for the disc. I had to resort to that method for "Treasure of the Four Crowns".

Other times I might pick up the synopsis from a previous release (I used an old VHS write-up for "Doc Savage"), look on Amazon to see if their page features a write-up or simply create my own.

As far as the legal language there are sites such as Euphoricfx.org and customaniacs that have logos and PS templates with editable legal text for upload. I even posted the template that served as a basis for my WWII collection BDs on EFX.

Added a 3-D element to my cover in honor of the fact the movie was released in 3-D:

check this link out for some spec templates for different production companies. it will cut down on some of the fine details of you custom covers. just click on it and put in your specific movie details.
