I almost hesitate to ask this question, but someone's go to. Are there any films "for the discerning gentleman" which are in HDR?

Lol.

What makes you ask that question, that still of the Brazil video above?

^ more MTI -> Larry Chernoff talking about digital film restoration involving Lawrence (1 years’ worth of their time including the development of a special algorithm), and discussing AI with regards to film restoration (as opposed to SoC chipsets in TVs for upscaling, which are already here and reportedly work quite well - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...d#post16953681 )

See at about 54 min. and onward with DRS Nova…..

I’m not sure if that 138 million figure - https://screenrant.com/gemini-man-movie-budget-cost/ subtracts out the substantial tax credits the production received, so Gemini Man actually doesn’t need to earn quite that much in order to break even as the article indicates.

Hadn't heard about that; still the film's reviews (true film content...value) are less than spic-and-span (stellar).

Marty is from an old generation, like Stevie (Spielberg), but unlike Spielberg he had no choice but to asked support (Netflix) for making his best ever film ... The Irishman.
Hollywood refused to support him.

So in that sense one can easily understand where he comes from.
But true too, Marty is an old fashioned movie director with one of the most influential cinema forms in world's history. It's not about money it's about emotional actor's conveyance within their surrounding world.
I thought Avengers: Endgame had some of that too...even for a sci-fi flick.
I also liked Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 and Sicario. ...All from Denis Villeneuve.
It's not about money, it's about essence...visuals and sounds around a strong storytelling.

Best films of the last twenty-five years; Roma and Cold War. IMO (heart, vision and soul/sound).

Anyway Gemini Man I'm looking forward to it on 4K Blu-ray, in HFR, and in 3D ... because technical cinema matters.

And next month, on Netflix...The Irishman.

* By the way, Boxing (sports) could be fatally deadly ... it's a risky business to be in, a choice by tough guys and we know the consequences too well...concussions, and death.
Will Smith (Gemini Man) was also in the film 'Concussion' based on a true story and still lives on today ...
I don't know if you keep up with world news, on all life venues, ...sports, entertainment, music, films, economics, wildlife, season changes, electric cars, solar panels, forest fires, oil industry, world leaders, etc., it's just terrible the young boxers who recently died. IMO

I could go on further with other sports extremely popular in North America and in other countries, and in HFR and HDR and HLG ... it's just that I prefer golfing and chess and snooker. Flying is fine too, and parachute jumping and surfing and hang gliding and wingsuit flying/gliding...in HDR 8K...or 6K or 4K. ...And slow-mo 3D I like too.

Banner wearing/waving Bill - https://www.instagram.com/will_tha_rn/ may know. DM him if you have an Insta account, and if you do, tell him ‘the Man’ doesn’t ever want to see that authentic TG: M patch seen on row 7 up for sale on ebay, as that was an exclusive run.

Spent most of the day at NAB NY and AES pro audio show NY. Great experience and enjoyed seeing many old friends from my many years in TV Broadcasting engineering.

Most of NAB was dedicated on 4K and 8K HDR and ATSC 3.0. The big news at the AES audio convention was Sony's exhibit of the new 360 Reality Audio Platform. Here's a few pics from today:

Yes, I saved the best for last, it's me immersed in the new 360 Reality Audio format:

I own a Panasonic UB820 player connected to a Samsung 43" 4K TV.
When should you have Dolby Vision and/or HDR 10+ enabled or disabled on the player? I saw someone's recommended settings for the player and they had both turned off, so I am curious of when to have them turned on or off

Like for example, off when watching Blu-rays or DVDs and only on when watching 4K Blu-rays? Please confirm. I'm new to the 4K format so I just want to make sure I am doing the right or recommended thing.
