Default Euro 2021

The first game of the European Championship in football for men is tonight.

I am mostly interested in how this tournament is broadcast, at least on this forum. In my country one of the broadcasters, NRK, will only broadcast in 720p. Their partner will broadcast in 720p in the free broadcasts and select games in 4k if one pays for an upgraded package. The cost for this upgrade was just 5 euros more than what I usually pay, so I went with it for this tournament.

I would like to hear about how other broadcasters are doing it, and how the picture quality is.

Any other discussion of the championship is welcome as well, of course.

Turkish TRT 4K will apparently broadcast in 4K HLG HDR
TRT 4K:
Turksat 42.0 E
10980 Mhz V S/R: 12500
http://www.trt.net.tr/televizyon/aki...l=trt-4k&gun=0

I know nothing about satellite TV, but it seems to be Free to Air.

Yes, it's free to air. You need some equipment to receive the signal, obviously, but it'll very likely be better than whatever streaming service is offering UHD broadcast where you are.

It'll be in Turkish, too, of course

A pretty decent start for the Italians. Turkey were very disappointing (which is actually putting it pretty mildly).

Yeah, how often does Italy win with three goals in a tournament? Turkey seemed like they hadn't trained together or something.

Apparently, this was the first time Italy actually scored 3 goals in one match at a European Championship.

A horrible incident that initially looked exceptionally worrying, especially once the medical staff were having to administer CPR.
More encouraging news coming out now thankfully.

People need not know everything about asystole, however, I think it’s a good idea for everyone to take a basic course in CPR and also learn the Heimlich maneuver, for that matter, if only vis-à-vis a YouTube from Mayo Clinic or other reputable place.

Heck, I’d watch this tournament in SD on a B&W tv if that was all that was available. Encouraging news is that Christian has been stabilized at hospital.

It feels very weird to go back to watch the rest of the match now. And I wonder where the players are mentally now.
